The Kaduna state government today January 7 arraigned the publicity secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, Abraham Alberah, and four others before a Gabasawa magistrate court for allegedly attempting to commit adultery and flouting COVID-19 protocol.

Recall that in December 2020, the Kaduna State Urban Planning and Development Authority (KASUPDA) demolished Asher Lounge, a restaurant, over the alleged plans to host a sex party in the facility. Politician, Abraham Alberah is the husband of Aisha Yakubu, the CEO of Asher Lounge.

KASUPDA had alleged that the hotel was the proposed venue for a sex party however a flyer announcing the proposed sex party did not give any location.

On Tuesday January 5, Ismail Umaru-Dikko, KASUPDA director-general, said the building was demolished because it lacked the necessary permit before it was erected. Yakubu who said she lost a one-month-old pregnancy after the demolition, denied KASUPDA’s allegation and has threatened to seek legal redress.

The state government arraigned operators of the restaurant, staff, and customers before the court on Thursday morning. The five accused persons pleaded not guilty to the charges bordering on “public nuisance, obscene or indecent act, gross indecency and adultery”.

Benjamin Nok, the presiding magistrate, admitted the defendants to bail in the sum of N100,000 each with a surety who must own property in Abuja. He adjourned the case till January 20, 2021 for trial.
