Umuoma Nekede Autonomous community in Owerri West local government area of Imo state Nigeria have sworn into office Community Chairmen and Youth leaders at the five towns of the community comprising of Umuezerokam, De-na-Agwu, Umuogba, Okwu and Umuikea respectively.

This event took place over the weekend at Oha Nnodi Town Hall located at Nkwonunuyo market Umuoma Nekede.

9News Nigeria correspondent who covered the event in Owerri gathered that the swearing-in took place after a keenly contested election that took place at respective towns on Saturday 30-10-2021.

Recall that the traditional ruler of the community HRH EZE MORRISON SJ EKE, PHD, OMADIKE-1 OF UMUOMA NEKEDE has issued an authority notification in line with the approval order from the IMC Owerri West local government, Hon Enyioha Okechukwu Dimkpa ow west to conduct the elections.

However, the election was conducted free and fair without any encumbrances or violence.

Meanwhile, the House of Assembly member representing Owerri West, Hon KANAYO ONYEMAECHI has earlier requested for a shift in the election date but the community heads, stakeholders, the royal cabinet and the election Organizing COMMITTEES conducted the election PEACEFULLY and SUCCESSFULLY.

Umuoma People’s Assembly UPA ably led by the president General Hon. Uche NWANERI charged the newly elected officers to take over leadership with Immediate effect while advising them to show good examples of an administration in their respective towns.

9News Nigeria in Owerri reports that the election was conducted amidst tight security intelligence and the swearing-in ceremony was peaceful.

Stakeholders and leaders of Umuoma including the Traditional prime minister, Nze Obinna Aharanwa, Elder Tony Ajoku, Chairman of the Royal Cabinet, Double Chief NWANERI, Council of Elders, Electoral committees from the five towns, UPA EXCOS, Umuoma Vigilante, friends and well-wishers witnessed the event.

The conduct of the election and its swearing-in ceremony has restored peace and order in the Umuoma Nekede Autonomous community having recorded a huge success.
