A renowned Nigerian journalist, David Hundeyin has revealed the reason Supreme Court is set to deliver judgement tomorrow in appeal against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
9News Nigeria had reported that the Supreme Court fixed Thursday for the judgment on the appeals by the presidential candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, and the Labour Party, Peter Obi, respectively.
The duo is praying the apex court to set aside the judgment by the presidential election tribunal which affirmed the election of President Bola Tinubu.
The Supreme Court’s Director of Information, Dr. Festus Akande, in a telephone call on Wednesday told our correspondent that the judgment on the appeals had been scheduled for tomorrow.
He said, “Tomorrow, Thursday, has been fixed for the judgment on the appeals brought by Atiku and Peter Obi.”
Reacting on his official X account formerly known as Twitter, Mr. Hundeyin alleged that it is because of some his journalistic work which he did as a private citizen, the Nigerian Supreme Court moved up its verdict so as to protect a criminal with an impending FBI criminal record disclosure.
According to him, “I guess at the very least I’ll get to tell my grandchildren that in 2023, because of some journalistic work I did as a private citizen, the Nigerian Supreme Court moved up its verdict so as to protect a criminal with an impending FBI criminal record disclosure.”
