Throws Weight Behind Executive Order 003

Plateau State Association in the United Kingdom (UK) has expressed sadness over the death of students and teachers of Saint Academy in Jos, Plateau State.

The Association in a letter of condolence jointly signed by Mr Rwang David Chall, the Chairman and Mr Moses Dang, the Secretary and addressed to the Plateau State Government through the Secretary to the Government of the State, reads that:

“It is with great sadness that the Plateau State Association, UK learned of the tragic deaths and injuries of the students and teachers which occurred at Saint Academy, Busa Buji, Jos”.

The Association joins all the well- meaning citizens of the state, home and abroad in mourning the lives that were cut short in their prime.

According to the statement “An academic environment should be a place where future leaders are moulded and not to cut same down”

“While we pray for the comfort of the families and the repose of the lives lost, the Association supports the governments plan of setting up a panel of enquiry aimed at revealing the root cause of such unfortunate collapse.

The Association also added that: “It is worthy of note that the governments’ efforts by the provisions of its Executive Order 003 (2024) are aimed at addressing such anomaly and possibly forestalling an unfortunate occurrence of such as Saint Academy Building collapse.

“The Association hereby throws it weight behind Executive Order for the benefit of the state and for safeguarding lives and property”. ‘

‘We stress the need for JMDB to ensure that already built and new school buildings are effectively inspected to be sure they adhere to building standards as only then will this unfortunate loss of lives never be experienced in the state again.
