In Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau state, Rikkos, Angwan Rogo, Bauchi Road and Naraguta communities have seen over 150 households displaced due to heavy downpour on Sunday, 17 September 2023 with no lives lost.
The heavy flood wrecked havoc, and lot of properties, valuables and possessions lost as a result of the rainfall.
One of the resident of the affected areas in Angwan Rukuba axis of Jos North LGA, Atang Ajang, said the flood, though non-fatal, left more than 150 households homeless.
The misplaced families are currently seeking shelter with friends, families and neighbors.
Another resident of the affected areas of Bauchi Road in Jos North LGA, Sani Shehu said: “I have never seen such havoc throughout my lifetime, although the rain is a blessing, but, we seek for government intervention, because my family are homeless”
Hadiza Abubakar, a victm of the downpour and a resident of Angwan Rogo in Jos North LGA expressed her surprise at the sudden flood and shared how it had destroyed homes in the area.
She and others who are affected are urging the government and compassionate individuals to come to their aid.
