Plateau Govt commends security operatives for arrest of bank robbery suspect in Jos

Plateau State Government has commended the state Police Command for the swift apprehension of a suspect involved in the attempted robbery of a UBA branch in Dadin Kowa, Jos on Monday, May 13, 2024.

This was contained in a statement signed by Hon. Musa Ibrahim Ashoms, the Commissioner for Information and Communication and made available to journalists in Jos.

The statement reads that: “This incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of vigilance and collaboration in maintaining security within our State”.

“The act of this individual, a student by some accounts, is deeply concerning, and in light of the ugly event, we urge parents and guardians to closely monitor the activities of their children and wards and to instill in them the values of honesty and integrity, which this state is known for.

“We must work together to present such occurrences in the future”.

The statement further added, “Plateau State Government under the outstanding leadership of His Excellency Barrister Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang remains resolute in its commitment to collaborating with security agencies and communities to combat all forms of criminal activity”.

” Government will continue to provide the necessary support to ensure the safety and security of all residents”

“The attempted robbery highlights the potential dangers associated with youth involvement in crime”

“The Plateau State Government is committed to addressing the root causes of crime through various initiatives, including educational Programs and social development projects”

“We urge all citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the nearest law enforcement agency”.
