The Senior Special Assistant (SSA), on Igbo Affairs to the Governor of Plateau State, Barrister Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has mobilized all the community leaders across the 17 Local Government Areas of the State to vote overwhelmingly for all the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the forthcoming Local Government Election.
The aide, Hon. Felix Akpunku, the Plateau Igbo Community Association (PICA), were informed in a meeting held on Friday September 27 in Jos to educate their subjects on the developmental strides of the Governor in just one year and few months in office, saying that the success must continue, the PDP should be voted at the grassroots.
Speaking to the Igbo Chairmen of the 17 Local Government Areas, Akpunku emphasized that Governor Mutfwang since elected has extended inclusivenes to the Igbo people in his government.
He said the areas dominated by Igbo tribes in the State have received facelifts in terms of road infrastructure.
He noted that when a school building populated by Igbo children collapsed in the State, the Governor who was abroad on an official assignment cut short of his trip and returned immediately to attend to the incident.
“It is time to reciprocate the kind gesture of the Governor towards us. We should encourage him to do more considering the relative peace we are enjoying and sustain it, the PDP leadeship instituted in all levels within the State.
“Let us not forget that our people are visibly businessmen and women which means that the sustenance of people will boost our economic growth and that of the government.
“The Governor laudable programmes are gradually being implemented in line with the Greater Jos Master Plan. The most laudable of all is the implementation of Poverty Alleviation Programme come 2025”, Akpunku said.

The Plateau Local Government Election, according to the State electoral body is slated on the 9th October 2024.
