Due to the recent escape of hyena from the Jos Wildlife Park, the Plateau State Government has commissioned three construction companies to build a perimeter around Jos Wildlife Park.
Plateau State Government on Thursday said all is set to commence the fencing of the Jos Wildlife Park.
The General Manager, Plateau State Tourism Corporation, Chuwang Pwajok in a statement reads that, “We are glad to announce the successful signing of contracts awarded to three contractors (RRC Construction Nigeria limited, Seven West Construction, and Lashgdom Nigeria Limited) who will handle the perimeter fencing of Jos Wildlife Park totaling 16.7 Kilometers, expected to be completed in ten months.
He added that, “the contract signing ceremony, held at Plateau State ACReSAL Project office in Jos on Monday, was attended by stakeholders and representatives of the contracting companies.
According to the General Manager, “The fencing project aims to prevent human-wildlife conflict, illegal encroachments, illegal mining, and unauthorized felling of trees, as well as ensure the sustainable conservation of the protected area”.
