The Yobe State Police Command has arrested a 43- year-old suspect, Abubakar Musa, in connection with the murder of his wife, Ammi Mamman, in Damaturu, Yobe State.
Spokesman of the Command, Dungus Abdulkarim, who disclosed this in a statement incident occurred at New Bra-Bra Estate at about 04:48am on Thursday January 4, 2024.
Abdulkarim said the suspect was in the same bed with the wife when she was stabbed with an object on her neck resulting to heavy bleeding that led to her death.
He said the man was being interrogated by the Police detectives to unravel the circumstances surrounding the death.
Açcording to him, the matter was reported at the C’ Divisional Police Headquarters, Damaturu, and it’s currently being interrogated by the CID and Homicide Unit of the Command.
Meanwhile, a resident of the area who pleaded for anonymity told newsmen that the suspect after committing the crime, he immediately rushed to tell his neighbour that his wife was seriously bleeding.
So, they got an ambulance and conveyed her to the hospital where she was confirmed dead”, he said.
