Operatives of the Nasarawa State Police Command have arrested a suspect over the recent killing of Ibrahim Mathew, a part time student of Computer Science with Federal Polytechnic Nasarawa (FPN).
The state’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Ramhan Nansel disclosed this in a statement on Friday.
According to the statement, one John Gambo, an ND 11 student of the Department of Banking and Finance of the same institution was arrested in connection with the crime following swift investigation.
“The suspect confessed to violently attacking/hacking the deceased with both an axe and a knife, leading to Ibrahim Mathew’s tragic death.
Both the axe and the knife were recovered from the suspect.
The Commissioner of Police has ordered the case to be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and subsequent prosecution”, the statement reads further.
