A man identified as Uromchi Okorocha was allegedly set ablaze in Enohia Itim village, Afikpo LGA of Ebonyi state for killing several people through witchcraft, as he was accused.
The police force public relations officer-Muyiwa Adejobi who made a statement said that the suspects has been arrested on 3rd January 2025.
Apparently, the victim after he was accused, was set ablaze by the suspects after they mobilized themselves and apprehended him.
In the statement to the press, Muyiwa noted that the Unwana police division had gone on a rescue mission at the scene of the incident but the victim had already been burned completely before they could reach them.
“The suspects had mobilized themselves, and apprehended the deceased instead of handing him over to legal authorities and commiting to the rule of law, they decided to take laws into their own hands becoming judge, jury and executioners.” The statement partly contained.
