Police In Imo Arrest Gunmen Who Kidnapped Priest While Having A Haircut

The Nigeria Police Force has arrested two people for the kidnap and subsequent murder of Reverend Father Jude Egbom, the parish priest of St. Patrick Catholic Church, in Ajaba Local Government Area (LGA) of Imo State.
The suspects, Chigozie Uzokwu and Peter Boniface, were paraded on Thursday at the Imo State Police Command by the Commissioner of Police, Dasuki Galadanchi.

NAN reported that on September 10, the kidnappers had stormed the barbing salon where the priest was having a haircut, and kidnapped him. He was later killed.

There have been repeated cases of kidnapping of priests in Imo State of recent.

On September 1, Rev. Fr. Cyriacus Onunkwo was abducted and killed in cold blood in Owerri, the Imo State capital.

On the same day, Rev. Fr. Jude Udokwu and his friend, Mbara Okporo, were attacked by suspected kidnappers.
Although the priest escaped by a whisker, his car was riddled with bullets.
