Police Parades 24 Suspected Kidnappers, Armed Robbers Others

The Nasarawa State Police bCommandhas arrested twenty-four suspects for kidnapping, armed robbery, cattle rustling and other offences in the state.

Parading the suspects in Lafia on Thursday, the command’s spokesperson, DSP Ramhan Nansel, said several firearms and ammunition were recovered. According to Nansel, some of the suspects were arrested through joint operation in collaboration with Military personnel and Vigilante.

“On 10/04/2023 at about 0800hrs, the police command in its bid to stem the tide of kidnapping at Nasarawa Eggon and environs, carried out a joint operation in collaboration with by the Military personnel and Vigilante at Alongan/Eggon Hill where four kidnapped victims were rescued and six (6) suspected kidnappers, Namely; Haruna Ibrahim, Umar Ibrahim, Yakubu Haruna, Rabiu Adamu, Adamu Mallam Musa, and Abdulkadir Ibrahim were arrested arrested and currently in police custody, while two other suspects arrested during the operation and one AK 47 rifle that was recovered is in the custody of the Military.

The police command has written to the Military authority for further investigation and prosecution.

“Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects were responsible for a series of kidnapping along Nasarawa Eggon- Akwanga road and some part of Lafia. Investigation is ongoing at the State Criminal Investigation Department, Lafia”.
