About 50,000 bags of grains would be distributed to people in Yobe State.
The intervention is coming from the state government in an effort to provide succur to the people.
This is following the poor harvest experienced by farmers during this year’s farming season.
The beneficiaries would include vulnerable household, pensioners, teachers, and small and medium scale entrepreneurs (SMEs) across the 17 local governments areas of the state.
According to the breakdown, over 7,000 LGA pensioners, 17,000 vulnerable persons and about 10,000 senior and junior secondary school teachers will benefit from the intervention.
Also, about 1000 tricycle riders, 1000 mobile phone and allied products SME, widows, orphans, retired security personnel and vigilante groups will receive the support.

The program is going to be implemented and supervised by the state’s Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs and Yobe State Emergency Management Agency, (YOSEMA).
The Executive Secretary of YOSEMA, Dr Mohammed Goje has assured that the distribution will commence immediately in line with the proposed plan.
