Portable arrested by Police

Nigerian singer and rapper, Habeeb Okikiola Badmus, popularly known as Portable, has been arrested by operatives of the Lagos State Police Command on Tuesday.

The controversial singer was taken into custody following a complaint filed by a car dealer to whom he was indebted to.

Portable had reportedly initiated the purchase of a N27 million G-Wagon from the dealer, although making an initial payment and promising to complete the payment later, declined to fulfill the remaining N14 million obligation.

This development followed unsuccessful attempts to secure payment from Portable, leaving the car dealer with no other choice.

In a viral video of his arrest, the singer dressed in a white and black stripe shirt standing alongside other people, with officers presenting a warrant of arrest.

Although, the rapper had responded with “No problem, no problem Oga mi,” he abruptly climbed over a gate close by, taking to his heels.

Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson for the state Police Public Relations, confirmed Portable’s arrest.

“Yes, Portable has been arrested. He purchased a G-Wagon for N27 million, paid N13 million, and failed to fulfill the remainder, claiming issues with the vehicle. We apprehended him today.” He stated.

Portable has once been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command due to an expiration of a 72-hour ultimatum given to him to turn himself in following a refusal to honor a police invitation over an alleged assault.

Portable became famous after contributing to the song “ZaZoo Zehh” featuring Nigerian rapper Olamide and Nigerian dancer Poco Lee.
