“Preach Forgiveness And Hardworking Not Hate Speeches” – Governor Umahi Tells Church Leaders

Governor David Nweze Umahi of Ebonyi State has charged Nigerian Pastors, Reverends, Evangelist and others to preach forgiveness and hardworking as nothing causes the progress of anyone other than hardworking.

The governor said this while speaking on Sunday at a special thanksgiving and Child dedication service of David and Gloria Egwuche at Redeemed Church of God Church, Glory Land Province, Abakailik, Ebonyi State.

He stated that he will soon lead the campaign from one church to another to ensure that Ebonyians and Nigerians by extension understand that success doesn’t come by hate speeches, bitterness, jealousy and likes, rather through hard work and prayers.

The statement reads:
“Very soon, I will start going from Church to church because I want the church to understand the time we are in now and factor it at the altar.

“We must start to preach forgiveness as a key way of life and a key way to prosperity.

“We must start to preach hard work. Most of the times people believe in miracle, I do too but the Bible said, let he that doesn’t work should not eat and when Christ was going about his ministry, he never called an idle person.

“Let us preach about people doing something and not people believing God, fasting and praying doing nothing and I am sure that no amount of prayers will make it work without hard work because that is not the setting of God.

The statement continues; “we have to preach against hate speeches. A lot of you engage in falsehood, wickedness without any pint of love in your heart.

“People are so bitter in their hearts, bitter against success and this is what we must do as we are determined to change the fortunes of our people for good”.
