Presidency bars media as John Kerry visits Buhari

The United States Secretary of State, John Kerry, will on Tuesday afternoon meet with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja amidst tight security.
Kerry has been scheduled to meet behind close doors with the President during which they will hold bilateral discussions on issues of common concern to Nigeria and the United States.
The American guest, who is equivalent of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, will thereafter meet with five state governors from Northern Nigeria at one of the conference rooms in Aso Rock.
It is believed that talks at both meetings will be dominated by Nigeria’s ongoing war against Boko Haram in the North-East and the efforts to rescue the Chibok schoolgirls from the terrorists’ captivity.
As part of the security protocol outlined for the visit by Presidency officials, only Buhari’s official Photographer and video cameraman will be allowed into his office to take some shots before the meeting commences.
However, photographers and cameramen from the private media organisations will be selected to take only shots of Kerry’s arrival and disembarkment from his car at 3pm within the Villa forecourt.
The rest members of the State House Press Corps, numbering over 100, especially reporters, will be confined to their press briefing room and out of Kerry’s activities until he departs.
