In yesterday’s activities of President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR, the Flood Control Tunnel from Dick Tiger to Otammiri River was commissioned. The Tunnel which is a part of the Urban Renewal Project of the Shared Prosperity administration of His Excellency the Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, was built with a world-class technology that collates flood from various locations and channels same into the Otammiri River.
This signature project of the 3R Government was conceived to address the flood menace that had hitherto ravaged the city of Owerri, causing economic hardship and housing crises. His Excellency, Governor Hope Uzodimma was so committed to delivering this project because many lives and properties had been lost in the past as a result of the flood.
Today, Mr President was full of joy to have beheld the works of the 3R Government within the short period in office. He specifically commended His Excellency, the Executive Governor for embarking and delivering on these people-oriented projects. Mr President expressed no doubt that Governor Hope Uzodimma, maintaining this pace, would return Imo State to her glory.
With this Flood Control Tunnel commissioned, the issue of flood across the connected districts of Owerri Town would become a thing of the past and the Shared Prosperity administration is committed towards connecting more districts into the system in due time.
