Rainstorm destroys over 100 houses

Early morning rainstorm on Thursday destroyed more than 100 houses is Jos North local government area of Plateau State.

Residents of the area reported that the rainstorm, which began around 1:10am lasted for over three hours and was accompanied by strong winds that blew off the the rooftops of several houses, leaving many families homeless.

Several commuinities including Kabong, Jenta Adamu, Jenta Makeri, Apata, Angwan Rogo, Zololo, Corner Shagari and Yanshanu in Jos North local government area were significantly affected by the storm.

Izang Arin, one of the affected residents, described the incident as devastating and unfortunate, noting that his family has been left homeless and helpless as no help is coming.

Shehu Aminu, another resident of Yanshanu area said the storm had removed the gate and roof of his house.

He explained that they had experienced heavy rainfall on Thursday morning.
