The confused opposition party in Imo State, the PDP has continued to live up to her identity of deception and dishonesty in their desperation to cling on to depleted fame as they have once again oozed out stinking and falsified data which conflicts every stand they had taken in the past.
He who sells oil does not provoke a fight in the market! How could they have forgotten so soon, the infamous and inglorious N19.63b Local Government funds that went missing under their watch? Or could it be that they have lost touch with their records of elephant stadia project across the 27 Local Government, an avenue deployed to syphon funds from the Local Government?
What about the pension verification exercise conducted at the Local Government by the ousted PDP-led administration which was marred with irregularities and fraud? How about the non-inclusion of rural areas in his Local Government administration by appointing only Sole Administrators? Was this legally backed? Was it morally justifiable? Was it democratically correct?
The hocus-pocus emanating from the mismanagement of the Local Government administration prompted the 3R Government to obtain legal backing from both the State House of Assembly and the Attorney General of the Federation in constituting Interim Management Committees (IMC) with every ward represented, while resolution towards the conduct of Local Government elections elapsed and today, the Imo State Independent Electoral Commission (ISIEC) has activated the Local Government electoral process courtesy of the visionary leadership of His Excellency the Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma.
Having woken up from their slumber, they realised that empowerment of the youths by equipping them with skills and knowledge for independence is an awesome approach in economic growth, fight against insurgent and improved grassroots development but while all these and more were ongoing, courtesy of the 3R Government, the opposition made jest over it.
With Agriculture, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) as the next global economic sector, the 3R Government created the Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Skills Acquisition immediately it resumed office and every other program of the Federal Government in this regard has been attracted by the Governor Hope Uzodimma’s administration.
From creation, the Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Skills Acquisition has carried out numerous skills acquisition training wherein Imolites (young and old) were trained by professionals and as well, assisted with funding both from the State and the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) through the Agric-Business / Small and Medium Enterprises Investment Schemes (AGSMEIS) as coordinated by the Nigeria Incentives-Based Risk Sharing System for Agricultural Lending (NIRSAL) Microfinance Bank.
It’s simply a display of ignorance for anyone to aver that Local Government funds have been withheld by the State when autonomy in Fund management has long been granted to the Local Governments and the State House of Assembly. Could it be that these were their action plan had they subsisted in office? No wonder N19.63b went missing barely 7 months in office, who knows how much would have been lost by now.
In all ramifications, the Shared Prosperity administration of His Excellency the Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma has surpassed every expectation in governance (including but without prompt, their suggested line of development). Just recently, His Excellency approved the renovation of 305 Healthcare Centers across the State and the reconstitution of the Development Centers with the inclusion of Town Union President Generals as members. His Excellency took this step in order to further take governance to the people even as the rural roads are set to receive attention from the State.
With the local government elections in process, His Excellency has further shown his democratic leadership approach in bringing development to the State. The oppositions are therefore advised to organize their Primaries and await the election, for their baseless and incessant distraction from the government can never yield their expectations. The 3R Government remains focused on the delivery of quality governance to the people of Imo State.
