Refutal: Dr Ezeafurukwe Paul Ihunanya Cautions Pdp Oppositionists To Stop Misleading Their Followership

BY PRINCELY ONYENWE, IMO

Recently, there is a rumour making the rounds to ridicule the image of Imo state government by the PDP oppositionist who doled out a fragmented article wherein the writer has cliamed that governor Uzodinma will sink the state with his administration.

On this therefore, Dr Ezeafurukwe Paul Ihunanya has reacted to douse the tension and warned PDP to stop misleading their followership.

The original copy of the letter as made open to the press reads:

RE: UZODIMMA AND IMO LOCAL GOVERNMENTS: THE UNTOLD STORY

We have read an article published by Imo PDP and it has become obvious that while our last reaction dealt a big blow to them, they have again resulted to digging up their old stories of which we have schooled them severally and will still do it since saying the truth doesn’t take away anything from us.

Tears As Accidental B0mbings by Nigerian Military Claim Over 400 Lives
Many People Feared Dead At A Borno-Yobe NAF Airstrike
NAF Airstrike leaves over 200 dead in Yobe State
List of Nigerian States Labeled As High Risk by The U.S

The story as captioned by Imo PDP is a clear indictment on the party, Emeka Ihedioha and his seven months administration and we will not join issues with the party but present the facts to them and Imolites in general.

Having sensed that Imolites can no longer be cajoled by their misdemeanors and incessant attacks on the person of Governor Hope Uzodimma and his Shared Prosperity administration, they have resorted to shooting themselves in the leg by digging up am old story indicting them.

While well-meaning Imolites have continued to show their support and solidarity towards the 3R mantra of Rehabilitation, Reconstruction and Recovery by this present administration, it is not surprising that the opposition in their usual cloak-and-dagger attitude sees it as unrealizable and uncommon hence, they make caricature of important things.

While there are verifiable facts on the mismanagement and embezzlement of state and LGA funds under the ousted administration of Emeka Ihedioha, it’s worrisome that his party men are surreptitiously calling for his head by their present disposition.

Should we talk about the swindling of 3.5 million naira from Imolites(Contractors) as a condition that must be met for the award of IMSUBEB contracts which as at today there is no touch of IMSUBEB project in the state.

It is disheartening that Imo PDP has feigned ignorance of the N187m customized bulletproof car imported by the paymaster with funds meant for payment of Pensioners. There is also, the white elephant project of the 27 LGAs Stadia that was used to loot imo treasury all within his Seven months in office.

We have not forgotten the N214B unaccounted funds as well as the indictment of the misappropriation of N19.3 Billion Naira from local government funds. This report was submitted by the same panel inaugurated by Emeka Ihedioha’s party man, Chief Eze Duruiheoma(SAN) which states that between 2011 and 2019 N214 billion naira of local government funds was either misappropriated or missing.

The report goes further to say that whereas N171 billion was outrightly misappropriated, a total of N73 billion was diverted which explains that both Rochas Okorocha and Emeka Ihedioha treated the local government funds as personal property instead of using it to work for the people.

With the massive development of road construction; revitalization of moribund industries; etc going on in the state, there is no doubt to say that the Local Government under the Shared Prosperity administration of Gov. Hope Uzodimma have been given a facelift as the moribund LGAs are now working for the grassroots and its successes are evident.

The recent stakeholders meeting in the state have proven that the LGAs in the state are happy with Gov. Hope Uzodimma and have shown great trust and hope in his administration which is a testament of what the governor has been doing in the LGAs.

Imo PDP should look for something else since they are never out of stock in criticizing the governor and his administration but either ways, we are ever ready to open their eyes to the reality of what is on ground and see if that can dissuade them from unnecessary bantering and campaign of calumny.
