Reno Omokri has taken a swipe at President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration over its claims of creating eight million blue collar jobs.
Minister of labour and employment, Dr Chris Ngige earlier said the President Muhammadu Buhari-led federal government had created over eight million jobs in less than three years.
Ngige said the jobs were mostly blue collar jobs, which he said was the main hub in employment generation today.
Omokri via his twitter handle mocked Buhari’s adminstration over the statement, reiterating Nigerian Bureau of Statistics, NBS, statistics on the number of unemployed Nigerians in 2017.
He wrote “The Nigerian Bureau of Statistics said 10 million Nigerians have lost their jobs under Buhari, meanwhile the Buhari administration is saying they have created 8 million jobs. Maybe they are referring to Lai Mohammed’s masquerade dressing jobs!”
Recall that the NBS in its report, had said the number of Nigerians that became unemployed rose under the Buhari regime from 8,036 million in 2015 fourth quarter to 15.998 million in third quarter of 2017.
