REVEALED: Omehia Sacked Me As A Council Chairman, Says Gov Wike.

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has reacted to the derecognition of Sir. Celestine Omehia was a former governor of the state.

Wike during a media chat in Port Harcourt, today, debunked rumors making the rounds that Omehia’s derecognition was to show vindictiveness.

He said if he wanted to show vindictiveness, he would not have recognized him as a governor, because Omehia dissolved councils when he was sworn in as governor.

According to Wiki, he was unable to complete his tenure as a Council Chairman due to the dissolution, simply because they took advertorials congratulating an enemy of Omehia.

He also revealed that Omehia never wanted him to be the governor of Rivers State and did not support his governorship ambition.

Gov. Wike explained that the state Assembly should be commended for correcting their mistake.

He stressed; he did not derecognize Omehia as he was not a member of the state house of Assembly, adding that the latter needs to pay all entitlements received.

The Attorney General of the state will advise on what to do if Omehia fails to make a refund
