The Rivers State House of Assembly has extended the deadline for the summons of the Chairman of the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission, Justice Adolphus Enebeli and other officials by 72 hours.
Following their failure to appear on Friday, the assembly resolved to reschedule for Monday, March 10, 2025.
This followed a request by House spokesman, Enemies George, during plenary on Friday.
Earlier, the House, during plenary presided over by its Speaker, Martin Amaewhule, on Wednesday, threatened to issue a warrant for the arrest of the RSIEC Chairman if he fails to appear before the House at the expiration of the ultimatum.
It also resolved to write Governor Siminalayi Fubara to forward the names of all his commissioners that were not screened by the Amaewhule-led Assembly.
