In a heartfelt effort to promote education and lighten the financial load on families, Nyeche C Onyemauche, the Councillor representing Igwuruta Ward 12 in Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State, stepped up with generous support for students preparing for the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination.
Under the inspiring theme “Education Is the Key,” the councillor handed out ₦20,000 to each of 22 students to help cover their JAMB registration fees. The presentation, attended by community members, parents, and education stakeholders, was a lively event that highlighted the community’s commitment to learning.
During the ceremony, Hon. Onyemauche urged the students to seize their educational opportunities, emphasising that education is a powerful tool for personal growth and societal contribution. He reminded them that staying focused and disciplined is essential for unlocking a brighter future.
Ward Chairman Jonathan Wosu also praised the councillor’s generosity and called on the students to honour the support by studying diligently, thereby making their families and their community proud. He emphasised that perseverance and hard work are vital for success.
This initiative aims to break down financial barriers for these young learners and reinforce the community’s dedication to improving educational prospects in Igwuruta.
Stakeholders see efforts like this as more than just academic support—they are a testament to strong grassroots leadership and a commitment to youth development, fostering hope and confidence across the community.
