The Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) has started screening candidates of various political parties that had indicated interest to participate in the 5th October 2024 Local Government Election.
In a scheduled timetable circulated online, RSIEC started the exercise with a collection of nomination forms by the various logical parties on Monday, 26th August 2024.
On Tuesday, the following parties, the Social Democratic Party(SDP), New Nigeria Peoples Party(NNPP), and Boot Party (BP), were screened.
Today, Wednesday, Labour Party (LP),
African Democratic Congress (ADc)
All Progressives Grand Alliance
(APGA) and Allied Peoples Movement (APM) will be screened.
On Thursday, parties expected to appear are the All Progressives Congress (APC), Accord (A)Action Alliance (AA), and the Youth Party(YP).
Those scheduled for Friday, 30th August 2024 are the Action Peoples Party (APP), Action Democratic Party (ADP), National Rescue Movement (NRM) and the African Action Congress (AAC),
On the 31st of August, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Peoples Redemption Party (PRP),
The Young Progressives Party (YPP) and the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) are scheduled for the screening of their candidates.
The time for the screening exercise is 9 am on every day.
