American rapper, Big Sean has opened up on why he is still not ready to tie the knot with longtime girlfriend Jhené Aiko.
The Detroit rapper explained this in the ‘Out of Context’ podcast last Friday, highlighting that, “there’s a lot of work that needs to be done.”
“It’s a little personal, you know what I mean? But just like to be real with you, just like any person who have dealt with love, we’ve had our ups and downs…
“And I think it’s still finding the right navigation through it all. To me, marriage symbolises, like, the best relationship. I would like to, and I don’t like putting our personal business out there like that either, but there’s a lot of work that needs to be done.” He said.
According to the Detroit MC, the idea of having to get married is “almost a fear-based way of thinking,” pointing out that divorce rates are very high these days.
However, in turn the host, Charlamange advised Sean; “Well take it from somebody who’s been with their woman for twenty-six years, right? It’s always gonna be ups and downs, period. The work’s never gonna stop.”
Sean and Aiko met in 2012 and have been together since 2016. They both released a collaborative album, Twenty88 in 2016.
The pair, in November 2022, welcomed their first son together, Noah Hasani.
The ‘Bed Peace’ singer, is also the mother of 15-year-old daughter Namiko.
