SAD: Woman Caught in Mile 3 Market Stealing 2 Bags of Garri

A young woman whose name was yet to be ascertained was caught at Mile 3 market, Diobu, PortHarcourt, Rivers State stealing two bags of garri on Wednesday morning.

An eyewitness who simply identified herself as Mercy told our reporter that the suspect bargained with an unsuspecting wheelbarrow pusher to help her convey the goods she bought inside the market.

Unknown to the wheelbarrow pusher that the young woman did not pay for the bags of garri but targeted when the owner of the shop was not at the shop to cart away the bags of garlic.

Our source disclosed that as the wheelbarrow pusher was about to move with the two bags of garri after loading, the owner of the shop appeared and immediately held the wheelbarrow pusher and pointed out that the young lady was apprehended by the mob.

We gathered that some executive of the Mile 3 market prevented the mob from carrying out jungle justice on the female suspected thief and she was taken to the union office in the market.

Another eyewitness told Our Correspondent that the suspect was video recorded by some members of the mob and hours after she was taken to the union’s office, she was allegedly released by the Chairman of the market who later pardoned her.
