By Princely Onyenwe, Imo –
Diocese of Lagos West Anglican Communion, St.Peters Anglican Church Oshodi Lagos State Nigeria has joined Mr Ken and Mrs Amaka Onyenwe as Husband and Wife.
In the solemnization of the Holy Matrimony, the Vicar of the church Rev.Canon Moses V.C.Okafor advised the couple to dwell in the fear of God and to love each other unconditionally.
In the sermon, the clergy told the couple the basis of the scripture that teaches Marriage as a gift of God in the creation and a means of God’s grace which is a Holy Mystery that made Man and Woman become one flesh.
He further stated that marriage is given primarily that husband and wife may comfort and help each other, living faithfully together in need and in plenty, in sorrow and in joy.
However marriage is also given that with delight and tenderness, they may know each other in love, and through the joy of their bodily union, may strengthen the union of their hearts and lives.
In marriage, husband and wife belong to one another and are linked to each other’s family as they begin a new life together to also have children and care for them.
He also made reference to 1corinthians 1- 13 and Ephesians 5: 22 and 6:1-4 where the scripture stated categorically the standard of love, Christian living and the foundation of marriage.
Our correspondent in Lagos revealed that Mr Ken and Mrs Amaka who hail from Imo and Delta state respectively were attracted to each other in their call to service of humanity through the church and in the course of their professional careers in Lagos.
