Two petty traders were rushed to the hospital in Abeokuta, Ogun state today February 20th after being hit by stray bullets from gunshots fired by SARS officers. According to reports, the traders who carry out their trade at the Olomore Market were in their shops when operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad of the Nigeria Police Force ran into the market. The SARS operatives were reportedly engaging an internet fraudster also known as Yahoo boy, in a hot chase when they openned fire in the market. Stray bullets from the SARS officers’ gunshots hit the two pepper sellers. One of the victims was shot in the head and the other was shot in the leg. They are currently being treated in a nearby hospital. Meanwhile other traders took to the street to protest the avoidable attack.
