In politics, the notion that nothing is impossible is playing out but it will be the biggest political wonders of the 21st century for the APC not to win the presidency in 2023, increase its majority in the National Assembly and add a few more States to its bag.
While speaking with 9News Nigeria in Owerri, an anonymous stated that by the way things are going in the politicial atmosphere, he understands that there are plans by some politicians to combine and set up a strong political Party that will give the governing Party a run for their money.
The source also stated that any coalition that is not like the one NIGERIA had in 2013, where very thin lines separated the ruling Party from the opposition, is sure not to go too far.
He however hinted that in 2019, there was what he choose to describe as a third farce, even though, the promoters called it the Third Force.
He futher explained a ruling Party that will lose power is known by how many of its key leaders are abandoning her, not by key opposition leaders joining in.
Of a fact, Zamfara governor joining the APC as planned, the PDP may end up controlling less than ten States by the time the elections come up in 2023, and that’s not a good position from which to fight for power at the center.
In politics, our correspondent reports that opposition is the beauty of a democracy and it won’t be in Nigeria’s advantage if everyone is in the ruling Party, but, we certainly need a new kind of opposition, driven by patriotism, rather than hate.
From the defection of PDP STALWARTs to the leading APC has shown that PDP is incapable of providing the kind of opposition required to move Nigeria forward.
The source futher suggested that PDP will need to go back to the drawing board, plan on how to win by 2027, because according to him, “it is almost obvious that they have lost 2023 Election even before the elections begin.
