Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has dismissed speculations about an imminent defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC), confirming that although she has been approached to join the ruling party, but with no intention of leaving the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The Kogi Central lawmaker said she remains committed to the ideals and platform that brought her into office, stressing that consultations or approaches from other political parties do not automatically translate into defection.
Akpoti-Uduaghan’s clarifications comes amid heightened political realignments and defections across political parties ahead of the 2027 general elections, fueling widespread speculation about the future political moves of prominent lawmakers.
She reiterated her focus on representing her constituents effectiveness and contributing meaningfully within her current political platform, urging supporters to disregard rumours of a planned switch to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
