Senator Ned Criticizes Gov Sheriff For Poor Development In Delta State Despite Receiving Highest Allocation In South-South

The Senator representing Delta North Senatorial District, Senator Ned Nwoko, has criticized the state Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, for the poor development within the state.

Senator Ned expressed his frustration during a gathering with his constituents, stating, “I am extremely disappointed with the level of development in our state.”

He further explained that despite being one of the highest recipients of allocation in the South-South, the state has not seen significant development.

In a video recording of his conversation with his constituents, Senator Ned revealed that the Governor attributed the slow development to the high level of debt servicing from previous loans.

Additionally, Senator Ned disclosed that the state government allegedly paid Julius Berger over N100 billion, despite claiming the contract sum was only 75 billion.

He accused the state government of prioritizing funds for the 2027 election victory instead of addressing important development needs within the state.

Senator Ned Nwoko further accused Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of neglecting his people despite his appeals, even claiming that he asked the Governor for a small sum to support the Okapi Power Plant project, but the request was refused.

“Governor Sheriff Oborevwori is running the state like a private company,” Senator Ned stated.
