Kaduna (9News Nigeria) – Nigerian Senator and Human Rights Activist, Senator Shehu Sani has vehemently condemned the attack by unknown bandits on a Baptist church in Kaduna that led to the kidnap and killing of some members of the church on Sunday morning.

According to a post made by Senator Shehu Sani @ShehuSani on his official Twitter handle, six members of the church were kidnapped while two were killed on the spot.

Shehu Sani who is the Senator representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District said that he confirmed the incident after he called some witnesses, and said that the incident was tragic and condemnable.

He also highlighted that over 70 people are currently in the hands of kidnappers within the axis of Chukun Local Government Area of Kaduna State in the last one week.

He tweeted:
“The attacks and abduction on Haske Baptist Church in Chikun LG, Kaduna State early this morning is tragic and condemnable.I called and confirmed that two were killed and Six were kidnapped. Over 70 people are in the hands of kidnappers within that axis in the last one week”

9News Nigeria had reported on Sunday morning that gunmen suspected to be bandits have reportedly invaded a church in Chukun Local Government Area of Kaduna State and killing some unspecified number of worshippers.

According to information made available to 9News Nigeria Kaduna correspondent, the incident occurred on Sunday morning while congregants were in a worship service.

As of the time of this report, it has not been clear how many casualties occurred in the attack.

When the Kaduna state’s Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mohammed Jalige was contacted by reporters, he said that he was not yet aware of the incident but was going to make an inquiry into the incident.
