Jos — Several people have been killed in a series of separate attacks reported across communities in Plateau State, with fresh violence in parts of Jos South, Mangu and Ta-Hoss.
On Sunday at about 9:30p.m, suspected terrorists reportedly launched a hit-and-run attack on Dungus, a predominantly Christian community in Jos South Local Government Area killing six people.
Around the same period, another attack was reported in Vodni, a Christian village in Mangu Local Government Area, where two people were reportedly killed.
The latest incidents came amid a wave of violence in Mangu Local Government Area over the past week, during which at least five people had repeatedly been killed, including three victims in an attack on September 11, 2026.
In a separate incident on September 13, 2026, two other innocent residents were reported by killed in Kunki, Ta-Hoss Community, allegedly by suspected Fulani attackers.
The fresh attacks have heightened concerns over the security situation in Plateau State, particularly in vulnerable community where residents continue to face threats from armed groups.
The repeated incidents have also renewed calls for stronger security measures, increased patrols and improved protection for rural communities to prevent further loss of lives.
The identities of some of the victims and the full circumstances surrounding the attacks were not immediately available, while authorities are yet to issue a comprehensive official statement on the latest incidents.
