The suspect, identified as Maimunatu Sulaiman, aged 21, was involved in a heating argument with her husband, Aliyu Muhammad of Kofar Dumi area of Bauchi state.
The ugly incident occurred on July 5, 2023 after a domestic argument that degenerated into fight. However, after the argument subsided, the couple peacefully went to bed together to sleep for the night. In a shocking turn out of events, Maimunatu, knowing that her husband had slept off, stood up from the bed, took a knife and plunged into her husband chest, which abruptly ended his life.
She was later arrested and currently being held at the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in Bauchi state.
Upon conclusion of the investigation, she is expected to face charges in court related to her husband’s murder.
