Residents of Tudun Wada area of Kaduna State were over the weekend shocked following the discovery of the bodies of three of the four children who had gone missing since Wednesday.
Their remains were discovered in a car allegedly belonging to a neighbour.
The fourth child who was also found in the car, however, survived and is receiving treatment at 44 Army Reference Hospital in Kaduna.
The children were all of the Hashimu Mai Atamfa family and were known to have gone missing on Wednesday around 6:45 pm.
They are Aisha Sulaiman Hashim, three and half years; Rabi’atu Aminu Hashim, four and half years; Abubakar Sulaiman Hashim, two and half years and Hamza Aminu Hashim, two and half years.
One of the parents, Suleiman Hashim who narrated how the incident occurred, told Daily Trust that when the children were nowhere to be found around 6:45 pm on Wednesday, they began searching for them.
“My biological mother, that is their grandmother, even went inside the compound to check inside the Honda Civic car that was parked and it was empty.
“But to our surprise on Saturday, we found their bodies inside the same car after three days. One of them Rabi’atu came out alive. The three bodies were all naked but when they left home they had their clothes on. This is why we suspect that they were murdered.”
Suleiman said he was confused when he saw the bodies of his children.
“Honestly, I really don’t know what to say because the incident really shocked the whole Hashim family. I lost two of my children Aisha and Abubakar while my brother lost his Son Hamza,” he said.
The spokesperson of the Kaduna Police Command, ASP Yakubu Sabo, who confirmed the incident, said investigations were on to unravel the mystery.
