Task Force Goes Berserk In Port Harcourt, Beats Up Taxi Driver To Stupor
Some youths who claim to be members of the relaunched Rivers State Task Force on Street Trading, illegal Motor Parks became unruly on Monday morning, and beat up a taxi driver to stupor around the Eliozu Flyover axis of Port Harcourt.
9News Nigeria Correspondent Gathered, the operatives allegedly pounced on the man for refusing to hand over his car key after he refused to give them bribe.
Eyewitnesses told Our Correspondent that one of the operatives jumped into a shop selling kitchen utensils and picked a kettle on display and used it to strike the head of the taxi driver.
The task force reportedly took off after a crowd started to gather following the driver’s cry for help.
The taxi driver is currently receiving treatment at a health facility in the area.
It is unclear if the boys involved are members of the task force mobilized by the state government earlier today to enforce it’s ban on street trading and illegal motor parks.
