The Da-Amakri Tubo and Amanyanabo of the Elem Kalabari Kingdom, Abubakr Asari Dokubo, has called the youths of the Niger Delta to shun all forms of violence.
He made the call on Sunday in his New Year message said he is committed to combating oppression, resource control and environmental conservation in the region.
Advocating for unity in the Niger Delta, Asari said such attributes among the people will bring development to the Kalabari community and the region as a whole.
The traditional ruler also encouraged members of of the community in the diaspora to make efforts to return home and invest in their communities.
Asari said, “Our people need to come back home to build houses here instead of buying land in other communities.
“I urge my fellow Kalabari brothers and sisters worldwide to set up businesses here that will boost the economy of the Kalabari kingdom and provide jobs for our people”, he stated.
