A Nigerian man who 9News Nigeria learnt is from Nnewi and bears the name Destiny Collins has been reportedly very sick and requires immediate medical attention as well as ticket arrangement to be deported to Nigeria.
According to a report sent to 9News Nigeria from Nigerians resident in Malaysia, Destiny has been in Malaysian immigration deportation camp since one year and a half ago, after he was arrested for visa overstay in the country.
He was tried in Malaysian local court for breaking immigration laws but was acquitted and allowed to be deported back to his country in 2019. According to Malaysian law, a deportee is required to provide their return ticket to their country of origin.
The immigration authorities drew the attention of the Nigerians in Malaysia when the health of the man started to deteriorate and he was needing serious medical attention.
Destiny requested to be deported back to Nigeria where he believed to get better attention and treatment, but there is no money to secure his flight ticket back to Nigeria.
Nigerians in Malaysia therefore made the issue public in an attempt to seek help from anyone who feels concerned. In a voice message sent to 9News Nigeria, the Nigerians in Malaysia are requesting and soliciting for assistance to secure the deportation of Destiny so as to avoid allowing him to die in the Malaysian deportation camp.
