-CALL ON GOVERNMENT TO STOP ILLEGAL DREDGERS IN NEKEDE AND ITS ENVIRONS
The people of Nekede in Owerri West local government area of Imo state have cried out loud to the Government of Imo state to withdraw illegal dredging companies in their area.
This call came as a result of the continued collapse of local bridges in their area.
Reliable source told 9News Nigeria the Terribleness of havoc these dredgers have caused to the locality.
Recall that there was a time, Imo state government stopped illegal dredging of sand and chipping from the rivers within the state and after a while the illegal dredging has continued to the detriment of the Environmental.
The video clip is the situation of Umudoche Umuoma Nekede Owerri West Imo state bridge as at the time of this report.
It is heartbroken to note the illegal and unapproved activities of Dredging companies in this area. To a reasonable extent dredgers must be held responsible for such a continued collapse of bridges within our localities.
It is also the responsibility of government to checkmate their activities bill the for damages otherwise Imo will one day collapse. What was done at the Emmanuel college Otamiri area can be replicated in the rural areas.
SOS!
