In a grand showcase of political harmony and synergy, the leadership echelons of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Southeast region convened today at the Landmark Event Center in Owerri, Imo State for the APC Southeast Executive Committee and Stakeholders Meeting.
Led by the esteemed Governor of Imo State, Dist. Sen. Hope Uzodinma, who played the role of Chief Host, and Hon. MacDonald Ebere, PhD, the Imo APC Chairman, as co-host, the gathering saw the participation of leaders from all five Southeastern Nigerian states.
Addressing the audience in his welcome speech, Hon. MacDonald Ebere expressed gratitude to all attendees for their commitment to the APC’s growth and prosperity in the region. He emphasized the significance of the meeting in advancing the party’s objectives across the Southeast.
Special recognition was accorded to the State Party Chairmen, their executives, LGA Party Chairmen, and Ward Party Chairmen for their tireless efforts at the grassroots level, which have contributed to the party’s expansion and impact.
The leadership of APC-governed states within the region was commended for their exemplary governance and dedication to inclusive development.
As discussions unfolded on strategies to strengthen the APC in the Southeast, unity, solidarity, and shared purpose emerged as focal points of Hon. Macdonald’s address. Attendees were urged to prioritize grassroots mobilization, party discipline, and effective communication to bolster the party’s foundation.
Harnessing technology and innovation for modernizing party structures and amplifying outreach efforts were also highlighted as crucial steps in engaging members and the electorate.
The issue of insecurity in the Southeast was addressed by Hon. Ebere with a call for collaborative efforts between the party, government, and security agencies to ensure the safety of citizens.
He recognized the need for proactive measures to address temporary inflationary pressures bedeviling the nation, advocating for policies that support economic stability and enhance purchasing power.
Again, Hon. Ebere specifically thanked Governor Uzodinma for his efforts in revamping Imo APC, which played a pivotal role in the party’s overwhelming victory in the last gubernatorial and House of Assembly elections in the state, not overlooking the improved numerical strength of the party in recent months.
As a Father, he added that Governor Uzodinma a key role in bringing sanity in the party’s political hierarchy. This acknowledgment underscored the Governor’s instrumental role in rejuvenating the party’s fortunes and solidifying its position in Imo State.
Dignitaries present included Chief Emma Eneukwu, APC Deputy National Chairman (South); Dr. Ijeomah Arodiogbu, APC National Vice Chairman (Southeast); Sen. Uche Ekwunife; Sen. Osita Izunaso; Rt. Hon. Chike Okafor; Chike Olemgbe, Imo State House of Assembly Speaker; Chief Ikedi Ohakim, Former Imo State Governor; Lady Chinyere Ekomaru, Imo State Deputy Governor; Hon. Iyke Umeh, Imo APC Organizing Secretary; and Sen. Ifeanyi Ubah. Also in attendance were APC House of Representatives members, Senators, and ministers from the Southeast, State Assembly members from the five southeast states, top government functionaries in Imo State and many more.
The Southeast Executive Committee and Stakeholders Meeting served as a testament to the APC’s commitment to unity, progress, and inclusive governance in the region, setting a strong foundation for future endeavors.
