SOUTH-EAST YOUTHS BECKON ON THE SENATE AND NATIONAL ASSEMBLY TO ENSURE THE REALIZATION OF ADADA STATE, ORASHI STATE, ETITI STATE, ABA STATE AND NJABA STATE

From the recent development on the pressing need for the creation of more states in the south-east to make a balance of equity with the Northern zone, SOUTH-EAST YOUTHS FOR EQUITY ALLIANCE, (SEYEA) HAVE CHARGED THE SENATORS AND MEMBERS OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES FROM SOUTH-EAST REGION TO RISE UP TO RESPONSIBILITIES TO ACT, LOBBY AND PROVE THEMSELVES TO MAKE SURE MORE STATES ARE GIVEN TO SOUTH-EAST.

The group however maintained that their political leaders must LEAVE NO STONE UNTURNED IN ENSURING THE REALIZATION OF ADADA STATE, ORASHI STATE, ETITI STATE, ABA STATE AND NJABA STATE AMONGST THE PROPOSED 20 NEW STATES TO BE CREATED IN NIGERIA AS CONSIDERED BY THE NIGERIAN SENATE COMMITTEE ON THE 1999 CONSTITUTION REVIEW.

Speaking to newsmen at the Imo Social media Awards held at De Range Hotels Owerri on Sunday 8th of August 2021, The President of South East Youths for Equity Alliance (SEYEA) “Comr Ekeh Ifeanyi Chimezie”, a former recipient of the noble award expressed happiness over the report from the Nigerian Senate Committee on the 1999 Constitution review.

Speaking on behalf of the grassroot Youth organization in South East ” South East Youths for Equity Alliance”, made the following remarks:

“It gladdens our hearts that our agitations for Justice, Equity, Fairness is gaining the desired attention following the release from the Senate committee on the 1999 constitution review which unveiled the intention of the National Assembly to create more 20 States out of which five (5) shall be created from South East region namely; Adada State, Orashi State, Etiti State, Aba State And Njaba State.

Recall that the call for the creation of new States and balancing cum bringing to equality, the number of States per each of the 6 geopolitical regions of the country topped the demands of South East Youths for Equity Alliance alongside other different Youth organizations of South-East extraction as well as other interest groups from South East Region, during the town hall meetings organized by the Nigerian Senate and House of Representatives respectively for the people of South East region.

“While we as a progress minded youth organization commend the move and readiness of the Nigerian National Assembly in adhering to the yearnings of the people as regards State creations, we want to as well plead with them to consider other relevant recommendations made available to them by South East Youths for Equity Alliance and other well-meaning groups and people of South East and Nigeria at large during the town hall meetings held across the Nation on the review of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria”

Meanwhile, Comr Ekeh didn’t mince words in charging the South East Senators, Members of the House of Representatives and every other important personalities from the South East region to pursue, lobby and ensure that these five States proposed to be created out of South East region by the National Assembly are actualized to the later, as this will in no little way meet the yearnings of our people and as well as put them in the good book of history and posterity.

Finally, the SEYEA National President reiterated his unwavering stand for the 2023 Nigerian President of South-East extraction and called on all Igbos to take the project very seriously.

This declaration was made by SEYEA PRESIDENT immediately after he arrived at Owerri Imo State from Uyo Akwa Ibom State on his consultation tours around the country on National Issues including the push on the creation of more states in the south East zone.
