Governors of the Southeast have said that the spate of kidnappings and killings in the region cannot be linked to the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.
The governors however said that anybody who has evidence linking the IPOB leader to the killings should come up with them.
Rising from a prolonged meeting in Enugu Thursday, chairman of the Southeast governors forum and Imo State governor, Hope Uzodinma said that the perpetrators of the insecurity in the region and their sponsors were criminals and should not be seen as legitimate agitators.
“Therefore, upon arrest, they should be dealt with by the laws of the land,” he said.
