About 21 persons were reportedly killed on Sunday night in a renewed Southern Kaduna Killings by unknown gunmen.
The incident which occurred at about 10pm in Kukum Daji village in Kaura Local Government Area of Kaduna has left over 28 persons with various degree of injuries.
Speaking to Channels TV, President of the Community, Mr. Yashen Titus said the gunmen, suspected to be herdsmen, invaded the venue of a wedding party in the community Sunday night.
Giving a brief detail of the incident, the President of the Community explained that the suspected herdsmen opened fire on the people who attended the party, said 19 people died on the spot while two others later died at the hospital.
According to him, the remaining victims of the attack who sustained various degree of injuries were rushed to Barau Dikko teaching hospital and other close clinics in the state capital for immediate treatment.
However, former Senator who represented Kaduna Central Senatorial district, Sen. Shehu Sani condemned the attack.
He said, ” The fresh killings in Kajuru and Kaura Lgs in Southern Kaduna stands condemned. Until the killings stops, the voices shall not be silent.”
