STOP FAKE NEWS: NIGERIA FORMER HEAD OF STATE REFUTES NEWS LINKING HIM TO PURPORTED ARREST OF HELICOPTER

The story of the Helicopter supplying food, weapons, and ammunition to bandits, kidnappers, Fulani herdsmen and cattle rustlers had been arrested by local indigenes of Arina village Shiroro local govt, in Niger State.

They used local traditional powers to send angry bees to cover the body of the Helicopter and chased the pilots away.

This Helicopter was alleged to be identified as belonging to General Abdulsalami as reported in almost all the media platforms online.

It is on this therefore the the former head of State, General Abdulsalami Abubakar GCFR has described the story as false and unfounded the fake news linking him to such a purported arrested helicopter supplying food and amunition to bandits in Nigeria.

General Abdulsalami said ordinarily, he would have ignored such spurious news but has to set the record straight to let NIGERIANS know that his hand is not in such a story.

He therefore disassociate himself from such a
heinous crime that is unbecoming of any patriotic citizen.

Meanwhile, he has condemned the series of attacks on Government facilities and citizens of NIGERIA which he said is stage managed to cause Division.

He futher stated that this kind of fake news has the potential of aggravating the already tense security situation in the country and should not be condoned.

The general had ealier lamented on how individuals can be so callous to peddle such news and smear the image and character of people.

He however urged Nigerians to ignore such treacherous acts and to be careful with the kind of information they dish out and share on Social Media since the medium is taken that fastest way of information disimination all over the globe.

He further urged Nigerians to continue to work and pray for enduring peace in Nigeria having known that the entity Nigeria is indivisible.

While speaking, Dr. Yakubu Suleiman Media Aide to former Military Head of State
General Abdulsalami A. Abubakar, GCFR had posited that Nigeria will remain a great country despite pressing situations.
