An indigenous ESTATE CONSULTANT CHIEF SIR Sam ANOKAM has asked the Federal University of Technology FUTO AND HOST COMMUNITIES whose lands have been encroached in error to have patience with the Imo state government ably led by Senator Hope Uzodinma to settle the lingering crisis between FUTO AND HOST COMMUNITIES.

The ESTATE CONSULTANT, stated this when Journalists went to him to ascertain the actual position of the state of the land in question.

9News reports that the land in question is located along Owerri/Portharcourt road from hospital Junction down to FUTO JUNCTION.

The land owners comprising of IHIAGWA, OBINZE, AVU and NEKEDE Communities are host to FUTO whose claim counters the right of originality of the land

The surveyor has told pressmen that the area of land acquired by FUTO is too much and this led to series of MEETINGS with FUTO to excise a reasonable size of the land to host Communities.

He however regretted the recalcitrant behavior exhibited by FUTO to have continued to claim almost the entire versed land of Owerri West.

The ESTATE surveyor and attorney to the host Communities futher stated that the federal government (FUTO) was told to desist from entering into the land until the MOU is signed between the three arms, FUTO, HOSTS and GOVERNMENT.

The host Communities are expected to stop selling off their inherited land until futher notice to their benefit.

He also said that he had met with the Ezes and hosts Communities to dialogue and resolve the crisis.

The agitation according to chief ANOKAM was said to have started for the past 16 years ago to make possible developments to favour land owners and have peace since the youths are saying that their inherited lands have been tampered by FUTO, denying them their last portions of land inherited from their forebears.

He said they are forward looking and thinking about their People, about the scarcity of land and the future of their Communities.

He futher maintained that every male child in these areas have inheritance right on the land and if this land is not returned to them, it means that some landowners will even become tenants on their land.

In his world’ ” what the community wants is to have inherited access to the land, get rid of land draggers and scavengers and possibly will start developing the lands for whatever reason (s) they would want to, because that is their right”

When asked his advice to the host Communities, ESV ANOKAM, honestly frowned at continued selling of the land and REQUEST they should stop FORTHWITH because the land is already acquired by the government.

He said he has a number of times warned his PEOPLE to be patient until this excize is completed but unfortunately, whatever reason that may have pushed the host Communities to start selling at this point in time is detrimental to their rights of Development.

For instance, some kindreds are even selling at a low cost of N400_N500 thousand naira per plot of land at such a designated area in Imo state. You can imagine?

When interviewed, the Traditional RULERS and PRESIDENT GENERALs from host Communities Confirmed that Sir SAM ANOKAM is the actual attorney to the host Communities by documentation signed and duly approved by consent of the land owners.

It is clear to note THAT IMO GOVERNOR, SENATOR HOPE UZODINMA HAS STEPPED IN TO PUT THE PLACE IN ORDER AND RESOLVE FUTO AND HOST COMMUNITIES pending when the MOU will be signed.
