A stint Operation conducted by joint security agents of the Nigerian government at Igbohos residence, reactions have continued to trail the development.
The department of state security confirmed the reports of the operation in a press statement at the service national headquarters in Abuja.
“A foremost civil rghts advocacy group, Alliance For Democracy and Citizens Rights (ADCR) in a press release said the security forces exibited professionalism and must be given due commendation. “This is a clear demonstration that Nigerians peace and safety is not taken for granted” there can be bo better way to demonstrate governments commitment to safeguard law abiding citizens. Fidelis Semaka, the exucutive director of the group maintained that the confidence of nigerians have once again been boosted by recent successes recorded by security forces.
” Those who are bent on distorting the peaceful coexistence of law abiding citizens are not above government and the law’” It is now a choice to do the right thing or have our nations security to contend with.” The group added.
The group said the clamp down on those who are destabilizing the nation’s peace was a duty the security agencies owe the citizens. “they have only risen to the occasion in the circumstances”
Recall that security agencies last sunday successfully aressted Nnamdi Kanu and brought him to Nigeria for continuation of trial. Kanu in several videos claimed responsibility for mass murder of security personel and innocent citizens, destruction of government infrastructure in parts of the country.
The group said Nigeria has clearly demonstrated capacity to contend with internal threats and urged Nigerians to go about their endeavors as well cooperate with security agencies on intelligence .
