President Muhammadu Buhari has postponed the scheduled visit of the players and officials of the Super Eagles who got to the final of the just concluded African Nations Championship (CHAN).
The President was supposed to host the Silver winning team at Aso Rock for their efforts at the tournament, However, the visit has been rescheduled for next week Wednesday, February 7, 2018.
The Postponement comes after the exact amount the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) are to get from CAF was released.
The CHAN team coordinator Patrick Pascal talked to Complete Sports about the development.
Pascal explained that there was no official reason for the postponement.
“They didn’t give us any reason for the postponement but we are hopeful that it will hold next week as planned,”
“The reception will take place next week Wednesday as against today which was earlier announced.”Pascal said
The president followed the Eagles progression throughout the tournament as he was pictured watching the Eagles quarterfinal game against Angola while at the 30th African Union Summit in Addis Ababa.
The President also posted on his official Twitter handle to congratulate the Super Eagles after they defeated Sudan to progress to final.
The Eagles lost at the final hurdle by four goals to tournament hosts Morocco, but received a Silver medal for their Efforts.
