The Supreme Court has voided the participation of Andy Uba in the last governorship election in Anambra State as the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

A five-member panel of the court, held in a judgment on Tuesday, that the APC breach its guidelines for the conduct of primaries and thus, failed to conduct valid primary from which Uba emerged as the party’s candidate in the Anambra governorship election.

The Supreme Court affirmed the February 23, 2022 judgment of the Court of Appeal, which upheld the December 20,2021 judgment by Justice Inyang Ekwo of the Federal High Court, Abuja.

The apex court proceeded to dismiss the appeals filed by Andy Uba and the APC – marked: SC/CV/240/2022 and SC/CV/241/2022.

In the December 20, 2021 judgment, Justice Ekwo held among others that Uba was never a candidate in the election held on November 6, 2021 having emerged from an illegally conducted primary election held by the APC.

Justice Ekwo held that the plaintiff, in the case marked: FHC/ABJ/CS/648/201, George Moghalu (an APC aspirant for the election) succeeded in proving that the APC did not conduct a valid primary election from which Uba claimed to have emerged as the party’s candidate.

The Senator Andy Uba Governorship Organisation(SAUGCO) has stated that Senator Andy Uba and his party, APC will appeal the judgement of Justice Inyang Ekwo of the Federal High Court that nullified his nomination as the candidate of All Progressive Congress (APC) for November 6, Anambra governorship election.

“While we remain law-abiding in the face of the latest development, It is rather not surprising to many that the APGA members could turn themselves as the spokespersons of the Federal High Court with their tented report about the judgment and abuse of our party, APC with a view to blur and distort this grave miscarriage of justice because they(APGA) are to be the direct beneficiaries of judgement.

”The APGA part in this script appears very glaring. Of course, they are aware that they have a bad case in the tribunal and are doing everything possible to take Andy Uba and APC out from the tribunal, but they will fail.

“We are not surprised that APGA members are celebrating the Justice Ekwo judgement like a child that received Christmas clothe from his father. They believe that the judgement will stop Andy Uba from proving his petition at the tribunal. The good thing is that this is not the last court in this instant. We are heading to appeal court to prove them wrong.”

… As Preliminary examination shows that APC and its candidate has grounds to challenge the declaration of Soludo as governor-elect

One of the major candidates of the just concluded Anambra State Governorship Election and the APC party flag bearer in the state, Senator Andy Uba has said that he will obviously be heading to the court in order to challenge the outcome of the election that INEC has already declared APGA candidate, Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo as the winner.

In a press statement made available to 9News Nigeria, Andy Uba thanked his campaign team and the Anambra State APC members for their effort during the election but said that having reviewed alleged evidence of election malpractices said that his team has resolved that they will challenge the election’s outcome in the court.

Press Statement

Members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Anambra state chapter yesterday reviewed the outcome of the November 6, 2021, Anambra governorship election, and resolved that there were enough grounds to judicially interrogate the outcome.

The Party’s candidate in the election, Senator Andy Uba and the top echelon of the party in the state led by the state chairman, Chief Basil Ejidike after an internal debriefing of the party and campaign organisation, discovered that besides having enough grounds to challenge the declaration of Professor Charles Soludo as governor-elect by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, the entire election was not conducted in substantial compliance with the rules governing such exercise.

Senator Uba had at the meeting with the party and campaign organisation yesterday at Marble Arch Hotel, Awka expressed profound gratitude to members of the party, the campaign team and Ndi Anambra, pointing out that though he never takes politics or quest for political office as ‘a do or die’ venture, he would, nonetheless, always follow the dictates of the law in seeking redress.

“I will start by thanking God who kept us all alive throughout the campaign and the election.
Let me once again thank everyone that contributed to this election in one way or the other. Your efforts was not in doubt and I thank you all,” Uba said.

He told the gathering that preliminary investigations show that there are sufficient grounds for him and the party to challenge the declaration of the APGA candidate, Soludo as the winner of the election by
INEC and that the ideal thing to do in the face of such discovery is to approach the tribunal for redress.

“We will be heading to court with the discoveries we have, which shows that the declaration of Soludo as the governor-elect is faulty,” he said.

“As governor, I was removed after 17 days of being sworn in by the Supreme Court of Nigeria and I did not die. So, the current development won’t hurt me. Power belongs to God and Him alone determines who he will entrust it to. This, I can assure you.”

For the APC as represented by the state chairman, Ejidike, the decision to seek judicial redress is, perhaps, the surest way to ensure that those who engineered the electoral heist of November 6, 2021, do not enjoy the fruits of their perfidy.

Ejidike:”Ndi Anambra and the world at large would bear testimony to the fact that, on the eve of the election, the outgoing Governor Willy Obiano administration had, through its Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Mr C. Don Adinuba, told everyone that the APC had written results of 10 Local Government Areas.

“Unknown to us, however, that false alarm was aimed at deflecting attention from the manipulation of the BVAS machine by APGA and a top official of INEC – a fact which a national newspaper had weeks earlier drawn attention to.

“We are heading to Court. APGA and INEC are aware that they compromised during the election and we have evidences to challenge INEC’s declaration in the Court of law,” Ejidike said.

The meeting was attended by several leaders of the party in the state, National Assembly, State Assembly and other members of the party.

An Independent Election Monitoring Agency of CLEEN Foundation, the Election Security Support Centre (ESSC) of has issued a press report on the activities of the security personnel, voters’ turn out and the general conduct of the election that is going on in Anambra state today, Saturday 6th November 2021.

PRELIMINARY STATEMENT ON THE 2021 ANAMBRA GOVERNORSHIP ELECTIONS AND THE CONDUCT OF SECURITY PERSONNEL DEPLOYED ON ELECTION DUTY BY THE CLEEN FOUNDATION

1.0 Introduction

The Election Security Support Centre (ESSC) of CLEEN Foundation, in collaboration with the Police Service Commission (PSC) and People’s Gazette, is monitoring the conduct of security agencies deployed for the Anambra State Governorship election holding today Saturday, November 6th 2021 and other incidences during the election process.

We also have noticed a general calm across the state and an improvement in voters’ turnout at the elections. However, there are also challenges with logistics and deployment of INEC in parts of Anambra State. Early observation showed that a number of women and youths turned to exercise their franchise.

Overall, security officials were approachable and professional in their conduct at of the time of this statement. In terms of logistics, the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) devices were seen to malfunction in certain polling units across the state.

These ranged from internet connectivity, lack of facial recognition and authorization fingerprints. A few of these were also linked to errors during the voters’ registration exercise. However, INEC’s technical teams were seen to respond to some of these technical challenges as they arose.

2.0 Methodology

The ESSC tracked, documented, escalated and followed up on security-related developments across the state through twenty-one (21) INEC accredited observers deployed across all the Local Government Areas (LGAs) in Anambra State. In addition, CLEEN Foundation deployed its mobile application called the CLEEN Mobile App which allows accredited observers to report security issues in their respective areas of observation. Other information related to election security were tracked and verified through credible media sources and social media platforms of credible partners. The following issues are highlighted as part of our preliminary report as at this time.

3.0 Opening of Polling Units
Reports across the twenty-one (21) Local Government Areas of Anambra state indicate that while there was early arrival of voters for the polls across the state. Additionally, there were delays in arrival of election materials at several polling units across the state. Opening of the polls across the state were found to be generally low however, in some isolated cases, we noticed early arrival of INEC officials in some polling units. For instance, Unit 4, Ward 2, Njikoka LGA, election materials arrived by 8am and voting commenced at 8.30am, similarly at Polling Unit 2,Ward 1 Awka South LGA , voting commenced early .

In terms of delays and absence of election officials, we observed at polling unit 21, ward 20, Nnewi South LGA, there was the absence of security officials and election materials.

Similarly, at polling units 08 & 09, ward 001 & polling units 1 & 2, ward 002, GRA, Anaocha LGA, there were delays in the arrival of election materials. Furthermore, at polling units 002,006 & 007, Ward 4 Awka North LGA, voting materials and security personnel had not arrived as at 9.27 am. At polling unit 2, ward 008, Idemili South Local Government Area, there was the absence of election officials as at 9.50 am. Also, at polling units 4 & 7 Idemili South Local Government Area, ward one (1), security and electoral officials were yet to arrive at the polling units as at 10.30 am.
4.0 Security Related Observations

4.1. Early Arrival of Security Personnel: According to the statistics generated through our observer reports, 47% of security personnel arrived at the polling units across the state before 9:00 am, while 53% arrived from 9:00 am upwards. This is below average and security agencies will have to improve on timeliness in arrival in subsequent elections.

4.2. Possession of Firearms at the Polling Unit: CLEEN Foundation observed that 64.7% of the polling units across the state were protected by unarmed security personnel. However, there were reports of firearm possession by security personnel on patrol across the state.

4.3 Adequacy of Security personnel at the Polling Units: CLEEN observed adequate security personnel at all polling units in the state. The minimum number of security officials seen in polling units was one (1) while we also recorded up to sixteen (16) security officials in polling units in some hotspot areas in the state.

4.4 Identification of Security Personnel: CLEEN observed 88.2% of the security personnel were wearing easily identifiable name tags. This is commendable. However, we observed that 11.8% were not wearing easily identifiable name tags.

4.5 Approachability of Security Personnel: Reports from our observers showed 64.7% of the security personnel at the polling units were approachable, 17.6% of these were very approachable by their disposition while 5.9% were observed to be somewhat approachable.
4.6. Feeling of Safety at the Polling Unit: CLEEN observed 76.4% of the polling units were seen to be safe and secured for voters at all polling units visited by our observers.

5.0 General Observations

5.1. Deployment of INEC Officials: CLEEN observed late arrival and setting-up of polling units before 8.30am in most Local Government Areas of the state. For instance, at polling units 012, & 013, ward 15, Anambra East LGA there was late arrival of electoral officers.

Similarly at Polling unit 7, 8, 9, & 10, Ward 1 Ekwusigo LGA, electoral officers were not found on ground as at 10.05am. More so, at Polling Unit 001, Ward 2, Ihiala LGA, INEC Officials and election materials were observed not to be present as at 10.26am, they however arrived at 1:09pm. Despite this delay, electorates were present at the unit waiting for the officials to arrive.

Interestingly at ward 1 & 2, in Idemili South LGA, there were challenges in the movement of materials and officials to the respective polling units from the registration area centre (RAC). As at 11.30am, the vehicle to convey the materials was yet to arrive. Also, at polling unit 001, Ward 1, Aguata LG, voting commenced by 10.00am due to late arrival of electoral officials and materials.

5.2. Welfare of Security Officials:

We observed that security personnel deployed to the state especially the Nigeria Police Force were poorly remunerated. For instance, while police inspectors and Senior Police Officers were paid N67, 000 while the rank & file were paid N32,500 as allowance for policing the polls. We observed that a lot of policemen were found without hospitable accommodation.. This portrays a wrong impression and brings to fore the issue of welfare package for police officers which has been a recurring challenge in previous elections.

5.3. INEC Logistics and Operational Challenges

CLEEN Foundation observed voting did not commence early in some polling units due to malfunctioning of the Biometric Voters Accreditation System (BVAS) which was newly introduced and deployed for this election. For Instance, in Polling Units 010,011 & 014, Ward 3, Dunukofia LGA, there were reports of late accreditation due to the malfunction of the BVAS.

Similarly, at virtually all the polling units at Ward 2, Anambra East LGA, and Polling unit 4,ward 4, Abaga, Njikoka LGA, we observed the malfunctioning of the BVAS and poor logistics by INEC including delayed commencement of polls.

Furthermore, at Polling Units 001 & 002, Ward 5, Orumba South LGA, the BVAS were observed to malfunction and could not authenticate the fingerprints of voters. Also, at Ward 2, Aguata LGA, we observed the same challenge of the BVAS, however, INEC

Officials were seen working hard to reach their ICT centers to resolve the issues. Similarly, at polling unit 010, ward 8, the BVAS Machine was observed not to work. However, INEC Technicians were there to fix the devices.

6.0 Recommendations

1. We urge the police hierarchy to improve the welfare package of police officers deployed for election duties. The proper and adequate remuneration of security personnel will boost the motivation and ensure that officers carry out their mandate without prejudice or undue influence by political actors.
2. INEC should ensure improvement in the distribution of materials to avoid disenfranchisement of citizens. We also encourage to improve the response time for addressing the BVAS challenges to increase voters trust in the process.
3. We implore citizens to exercise patience amidst logistic challenges INEC is currently facing. We encourage citizens to keep faith in the process and exercise their civic responsibility.
4. We encourage registered voters to go out and exercise their franchise as the election has been generally observed to be peaceful.

7.0. Conclusion

CLEEN Foundation will continue to observe the election and later issue her post-election statement to detail more on the overall conduct of the security personnel deployed on election duty. We are pleased to note that the next phase of the election which involves collation is very crucial moment, we enjoin INEC, the Law Enforcement and Security agents to maintain the highest level of professionalism in their conduct by guiding against any form of compromise that could scuttle the democratic process.

Historically, the month of November is significant and symbolic to Ndigbo’s hostoric struggle for freedom, equity and equal opportunity in the Nigerian sociopolitical template. While the legendary great Zik of Africa, the courageous and sensational Ojukwu and maverick Francis A. Nzeribe were born in November, the Anambra election will be taking place a day after the birthday anniversary of yours sincerely.

Politically, Anambra State is now the focus of attention as it goes to the poll tomorrow to determine what happens to the future of the State in the next four years. Anambra holds a lot of importance to the people of South East and Nigeria however way it is looked at. No wonder the attention shift.

The contenders representing the major political parties in the game are no push overs and have acquitted themselves in one endeavor or another, thus the keen contest.

For some time now, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) have made the state its fortress, the only state its presence is strongly felt in the country. But everything appears to indicate that it will lose the monopoly this time by tomorrow. Anambra election is significant for Ndigbo because it sign posts its readiness to actualize the dream of producing an Igbo president which the South East has been clamouring for.

There is no better time to grab the opportunity than now that it beckons. Anambra election is the first right foot to put.

A zone that is clamouring for power rotation is expected to put every foot right leaving no opportunity to chance. Those who root for APGA to maintain their hold are only interested in the narrow individualistic political concern at the expense of the broader interest of ndi Igbo.

At a period, every average well-meaning Igbo man is desirous of steering the wheel of political vehicle of this nation drowning ethnic interest and promoting national interest is of utmost priority, hence the conscientious, brilliant and strategic effort by Governor Hope Uzodinma to mobilize the greater percentage of our people into the larger national ship which the All Progressives Congress (APC) represents.

Identifying ourselves with the centre of action through strong participation would certainly provide us with the leverage to contest for a larger portion of the national cake as well as claim everything that rightfully belongs to us. In the Nigeria’s political sphere, APGA is like an inconsequential, occupying a small space even among the Igbo it claims to represent its interest.

The PDP is like a withering tree tothering and risks collapse any moment.

The massive influx of people from its fold into the APC everywhere you go (apologies to MTN) speaks volumes. More of its people and structures reports indicate, will still collapse into the ruling party. The loss of APGA’s deputy governor and six legislators with their constituents and supporters is enough message to Anambra people to make hay while the Sun shines.

Anambra people are highly reckoned as wise and intelligent people who makes good choices and decisions that guarantee them huge succeses in business and other endeavors. There is no doubt that they would bring that to bear in tomorrow’s election.

A new APC governor in Anambra, plus Dave Umahi of Ebonyi and ever hard working irrepressible Gov Hope Uzodimma of Imo, the chances of Ndigbo securing the presidential ticket would further be strengthened and consolidated.

Politics is a game of numbers and unfortunately Ndigbo appears naturally shortchanged in both the number of states, the population and the registered voters. It cannot further withdraw itself by voting APGA with all the baggages and yet expect to reap from the support of others.

To improve the stake of Ndigbo there is every reason for Anambra people to join the national conversation through the instrumentality of the ruling party-the All Progresssives Congress (APC). For ndi Anambra, voting APC tomorrow will broaden the political landscape of unlimited opportunities, economic prosperity and human empowerment. Fortunately, Senator Andy Uba, the governorship candidate of APC is an experienced administrator, skilled power broker and seasoned political team player who have an established network and goodwill across the niger to leverage on for the collective interest of Anambra state in particular and Ndigbo in general.

The political movement of former governors of Anambra moment after living office, points to the incontrovertible fact that AGPA in an instrument for the actualization of the narrow interest of it’s operators. All the former governors elected on the APGA platform had all joined a national party immediately after leaving office to engage in national competitiveness- the outgoing governor Willie Obiano will not be an exception!. It is time for brothers and sisters in Anambra to wake up and take their destiny in their hands. There is no better time to do so than now.

Meanwhile, a report has it that the killings bedevilling the state were targeted at disrupting the country’s unity, having the south East zone at higher risk.

In three weeks or thereabouts, if plans moves on as scheduled, Anambrarians would throng out in their numbers to cast their votes. Ndi-Anambra would stand to choose who becomes their Governor for another four years.

This year’s election brings to mind – a subtle reminder to the choices set before ndi-Anambra. It brings to bear – the challenges facing Anambra. It does indeed offer Anambrarians a blank cheque, in choosing who heads the helm of affairs in the state.

Election season is here again. Decisions are integral at this time. People would’ve the choice to choose between merely N2000 stipend with an Abada fabric tailoring design and mortgage their future, or reject the devil, its gifts in all forms and rights. At this time, there’s no joker to throw up. This is a very serious business, and must be taken as such.

Anambrarians remarkably are industrious people. Ndi-Anambra are vastly known with their rich entrepreneurial spirit. For every onye Anambra, even where there seems to be no light, he pushes limitlessly with this burning zeal and undying hope until something worthwhile comes out of it. Be it at home, or abroad for the diasporans.

Unfortunately, yet quite frankly, the outcome of elections in most cases aren’t solely dependent on turnout of the electorates. However, just like examination many may argue isn’t solely the truest test of knowledge; so also, elections and voting with ballot papers may not always bring lasting solutions to problems facing the people.

The goodnews is – even where in some quarters, where examinations aren’t taken as the truest test of knowledge; to this day, that’s all we have got. We must therefore continue to use it. So also, all we have for now is elections, and voting in same. It stands Supreme as a constitutional right, and where it passes well, one must’ve contributed immensely to an outcome in the election.

At this instance, there’re a few bottlenecks, which for a fact can’t be dismissed like nothingness in this election. There’re obvious worries which ought to bring troubling concerns. There’re plausible hitches lined up, either for, or against the forthcoming elections. We can’t dismiss, wish away, wave off or totally ignore those. We must face facts as they are!

In Igboland today, there’s trouble in the land. In Anambra State in particular, the wild wind of insecurity is continually blowing through and one is left in the middle of a crossroad. The members of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB were formerly at the forefront of “No Elections” in Igboland. Lately however, they seem to have soft-peddled.

Somehow, Anambra is at the epicenter of it all. Anambra has become the theatre of various criminal activities, violence and even more of such negativities. Anambrarians no more sleep with their two eyes closed. There is fear in the land. The people are worried; and it seems so, that those even in Government and their foot-soldiers are tired as well. Sadly, there seems to be no ending in sight.

There’s a faceless terror group, alleged to have infiltrated Anambra from neighboring states. It’s possible that masterminds are from outside Anambra, but we must’ve in mind that it’s only the home-grown rat that invites the wild rat in the bush to come-in, that the house is plentiful. There’s no such thing like external actors, without their internal frontiers or foot-soldiers. Therefore, amongst such criminal elements are Anambrarians too and those resident therein.

In virtually all the five Eastern states of Igboland, no market, offices or public institutions opens for business on Mondays. It began like a joke, then took various turns and now has become more like a ritual. Infact, even when the South Eastern Governors had strived to convince the people of their safety, the “Ghost Town” of IPOBians remained more like a law. People are afraid to dare come out.

There’re genuine concerns about the Ghost Town Monday rituals. It was alleged that Igbo sons and daughters were forced to miss annual international examinations like the West African Examination Council, WAEC and some papers of National Examination Council, NECO. Sadly, many missed the compulsory subjects of Mathematics and English.

The sad tale was that the faceless armed men who stormed various study / examination centers and strived to impose the No Examinations thing for the Ghost Town Monday didn’t actually understand clearly what the examination or its board stood for. These examinations aren’t ones to be conducted at intervals or can be shifted at will.

What does the above imply? It meant therefore, for any Igbo son or daughter that missed any of those compulsory subjects, would definitely have to sweat it out for another academic session – a whole academic calendar year. Many Igbo sons and daughters are already in this!

It’s not only that the Ghost Town for Mondays was began. What caused uproar, frustration and anger was that it was even forced to happen on certain Fridays too. In fact, we are learning that they’ve plans of extending it to a whole week and maybe even an entire month; according to them, if Federal Government fails or refuses to produce Nnamdi Kanu. This is no jokes.

Aside the academic loss; has anyone wondered the economic toll the seat-at-home is costing Ndi-Igbo. For a region that survives majorly by trading and entertainments; all markets, shops, bars and events are placed on hold. Does it now mean that before one plans to host an event, you consult with them to verify when and how they plan their sit-at-home? Ridiculous!

The Monday sit-at-home has become a terrific one. Even tuesdays, at Onitsha, the ever busy industrial hub of Igboland is majorly deserted too. Young men can be seen playing football games on a trunk-A six lane expressway comfortably. The towns of Nnewi, Ihiala, Okija, Ozubulu, Amichi, Ukpor, Osumoghu, Azia and Lilu et al becomes totally dead. Infact, Ihiala Local Government in particular has become typically the theatre of it all.

It was around Nkpor / Ogidi that the widower of the Nigerian Amazon, late Prof. Dora Akunyili who served as Director General of NAFDAC and former Nigeria’s Infomation Minister, Dr. Chike Akunyili was gruesomely murdered by those arsonists.

What’s Dr. Chike Akunyili’s crime? That he was coming from Onitsha where he had gone and received a posthumous award on behalf of his wife, then returning back from there, he ran into this daredevil criminals and they killed him in the most dehumanizing form. He strived to survive, but passers/by were more concerned with making video recordings.

Dr. Akunyili deserved better. He shouldn’t have been ended in such a brutal way. He gave up his one and all for the well-being and good of Ndi-Igbo in particular, and Nigeria in general. His wife served at the highest ranks and files, teaching and mentoring millions, risking it all and saving lives – all for the love of Nigeria.

The late Prof. Dora Nkem Akunyili was a model to Nigerian nay African girl-child movement. She was an inspiration to many young girls both in Nigeria and outside the Nigerian shores.

Dr. Chike wasn’t a nobody. Ha has a big name. He was a healer, a Doctor who even gave services with less or no pay. It was a sad tale to even remember that he was gruesomely murdered by this faceless killer squad. The Akunyili(s) would no doubt find it extremely difficult to forgive Nigeria. They deserved better. If the target were to be politicians, Chike wasn’t one and hasn’t publicly shown any interest in politics.

For a fact, Chike Akunyili is only one of the many who have lost their lives in this craze-like killings. There has been series of kidnaps, even those of high profile individuals. Vehicles with political party designs and insignias had been vandalized and burnt. Violence has overtaken the streets, where these criminals shoot sporadically into the air.

The Anambra Gubernatorial election therefore is a test ground. It’s like a litmus paper-like sort of test, to see the porosity of the Igbo nation, to understudy the future of elections in Igboland and what may become of the future.

More often than not, an intimidating population of young Igbo men and women throng the streets and cause blockades on major roads asking for the Biafran nation; they’re been ignored until now. What is playing out now in Igboland is a fallout of an age-long choice of Igbo elites and political leaders to ignore an avoidable present. Shame!

The uncommon reality is that nothing would stop Anambrarians from going to the poll. The dates might change for security reasons, but talk about elections holding – it’s a constitutional right that must come to pass.

What we should be angling for about now is pleading that the killer squad stops, and allow that people come out and vote during elections and allow for a peaceful transition. If they refuse, the ruling party may be left without any option but to impose their choice candidate either by hook or crook. If the worst circumstances comes to be, they can even impose a state of emergency; and yes, the world wouldn’t come to an end, if they so choose to do so.

The four frontline contenders, and not listed in any particular order are:
* Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah of YPP
* Valentine Chineto Ozigbo of PDP
* Charles Chukwuma Soludo of APGA
* Andy Emmanuel Uba of APC

There’re the other likes of Godwin Mmaduka of Accord, Ben Etiaba of AA, Obiora Agbasimelo of Labour Party, and Obiora Okonkwo of ZLP. These are giants and forces in their own rights. However, we would focus chiefly on the big four – the giants to beat.

Andy Uba a two term Senator and former Presidential aide has the backing of Abuja power titans. He’s of the ruling APC and lays claim to the blessings of the Presidency and their foot soldiers. He’s said to be the man who used his links and connections in the Presidency to engineer some juicy appointments.

Charles Soludo is a former Governor of Nigeria’s apex bank, the Central Bank of Nigeria. He’s of the state ruling party, APGA and wholly lays claim to the powers that be in Anambra State, especially that of the incumbent Governor. He breathed fresh air into Nigeria’s banking sector and brought about consolidation and financial security.

Valentine Ozigbo is a celebrated banker and manager. He’s of Nigeria’s major opposition party, the PDP and has the blessing of many from the banking sector, including the immediate past Governor of Anambra State. The glory and attainment of Transcorp cannot be complete without the mention of his name and his managerial roles.

Ifeanyi Ubah is a serving Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. He owns chains of businesses and investments within and outside Anambra State. West Africa’s largest tank farm located in Lagos, the Capital Oil & Gas Limited is owned by him. He’s currently singlehandedly building a Catholic Cathedral in his Diocese of Nnewi. Amongst all the other contenders, non other owns as little as half the investments he owns in the state – Ifeanyi Football Club, Ifeanyi Ubah Games Village, the Authority FM and Newspaper et al. He belongs to the streets and is loved by people of all ages and classes. He’s even known as the street General.

In this election, it’s between the individuals, and not the party. The insecurity scare in the land has scored another low, forcing major steak-holders and political parties to move their campaign trains to outside Anambra State. Ifeanyi Ubah was first when his campaign train was seen on the streets of Lagos, Soludo, Ozigbo and Andy Uba later followed.

Ifeanyi Ubah has yet again scored another first – he approached the court, suing that he be granted rights to visit the leader of IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. He has made such attempts in the past, but was resisted, but asked to do so through the courts. He has now approached the court, seeking that as a serving senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, he be allowed to visit and see Nnamdi Kanu at the DSS custody.

Why does Ifeanyi Ubah want to see Mr. Kanu?

Oh well, his response is superlative. The Igboland hasn’t been at peace since his eventual arrest in Kenya and return to Nigeria by the DSS. There’s trouble in Igboland in protest against his detention. Ubah wants to reach out to him, see him, find out about his health, the realities on ground and seek for peaceful resolution of the problems keeping him there.

If the faceless Unknown Gunmen permit, this election should bring a great ending; but until then, we are at their mercy.

While Speaking at the event, Governor Hope Uzodimma promised that under the rule of law and the principles of the All Progressive Congress (APC), he will deliver the party’s candidate to victory as he called for more unity in the party to achieve a land-sliding victory.

Philanthropist, Dr Godwin Maduka who was one of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Anambra State governorship aspirants was duped by his own campaign directors after they absconded with funds supposedly meant to appease the super-delegates on the day of the primaries.

According to a piece of information made available to 9News Nigeria from a reliable source, Dr Maduka’s campaign directors absconded with the sum of $450,000 cash that was supposedly mapped out to bribe the super delegates on the day of the Primaries.

The source said that Godwin Maduka was disoriented at the Dora Akunyili Women’s Development Center, Awka, the venue of the Anambra PDP governorship primary after ten of his campaign officials made away with $450,000 that was meant for the super delegates.

According to an eye-witness at the scene of the PDP guber primary that held on Saturday, June 26, 2021, Dr Maduka had earmarked $45,000 as a bribe to give to the super delegates from each local government. The source further revealed that about 10 of his staff reportedly collected the cash from him at the hotel where he was lodging and became unreachable later on.

“Lion (Dr Maduka) is fuming right now. Some of his guys just disappeared into thin air with his money. I think they see it as their only chance to get anything out of Maduka,” the eyewitness, a staff of the PDP at the Abuja headquarters told our report.

“I believe they acted because things are not looking good for him as he does not have the required delegates to swing the primary in his favour.

“They must have connived to run away with the money because their numbers have been switched off,” our source revealed.

Multiple sources confirm that Maduka was seen at the event ground at about 5.17 pm pacing up and down on the phone and screaming at anybody who approached him.

According to our findings, Dr Maduka’s coordinators made away with funds meant for Anaocha, Aguata, Awka North, Awka South, Oyi, Ihiala, Idemili North, Idemili South, Ogbaru and Ekwusigo local governments.

Commenting on this report, a chieftain in Anambra State PDP who did not want his name mentioned said: “Dr Godwin Maduka is a very good man and a Philanthropist that everyone can attest for him, but politics is a different ball game and he is a novice in terms of politics, so he has experienced Baptism-by-Fire in the hands of the old-cargo politicians. I think next time he will do better.”

The Governorship Primaries of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Anambra state chapter took place on the Saturday 26th of June, 2021 to nominate its Flagbearer for the 2021 Governorship Election.

One can recall for the past 16 years that PDP lost the Agu-Awka seat, since then, the party has been making serious efforts to regain its lost glory in Anambra. At a time like this, PDP ought to have been more careful than before with Anambra primaries election to some extent because, the November 6 Governorship election will make or mar the party.

The outcome of Anambra Governorship election will have a major impact in PDP.

In few months, PDP has lost three of its governors to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, more are still counting. So many National Assembly members have defected from PDP to APC, some other stakeholders and chieftains of the party have pitched tent with the APC just in few months. Seriously, there has been mass exodus lately as mass decamping hits PDP.

PDP had the best aspirants before the primaries, but was business as usual; dynasty, political cabal, godfatherism and hand-picking of delegates has caused PDP to make a “Colossal Mistake” that may dim the chances of PDP winning the governorship election on November 6.

Because of lack of internal democracy and hand-picking of Delegates, PDP cracked its wall into two factions, thereby producing two Governorship candidates. The Chief Chris Uba faction produce Senator Ugochukwu Uba as its candidate and Flagbearer. The Chief Ndubuisi Nwobu has Mr Valentine Ozigbo as it’s candidate.

PDP paraded 12 Aspirants at the primaries even with the exorbitant cost the party forms were sold for: Expression of Interest 1.m, Compliance form 5m and Nomination form 20m. So the total cost of getting PDP forms for the Anambra governorship election primaries was 26m.

The question now is, what is the Colossal Mistake PDP made by not nominating Dr Godwin Maduka as it’s candidate?

–  Anambra Consists Of Many Political Dynasties

The political umpires of the Uba’s, Ngige, Okwute (Peter Obi), Willie Obiano etc is what Ndi-Anambra don’t wish to have again. Almost all the aspirants of PDP are in one way or the other connected or rooted to the dynasties, except Dr. Godwin Maduka. A self-made entrepreneur, renowned Medical Doctor, humaniterian, technocrat with international connections and sagacity that is needed to reposition Anambra to compete with the global economies. Dr Maduka’s God-father remains the electorates and not any dynasty.

• A  Bridge-Builder That Will Unite All Factions.

The crisis currently rocking the PDP in Anambra State couldn’t have emerged or surface, if Dr Godwin Maduka was nominated to be the candidate and Flagbearer of PDP for the November 6, Governorship election.

Maduka’s candidature could have been a bond binding the aggrieved members together, he is known to be a clean gentleman with no dent or political baggage, who has not step on any toes. As such, he could have been the best candidate for PDP with a full harmonization and formidable force to win the election for PDP.

Every other aspirants could have accepted his candidature without rancor or grievances, he would have been the rallying point of the Stakeholders and the party faithfuls because of his unique leadership qualities, grassroot acceptability and humble disposition.

• Philanthropic And Humanitarian Services.

Among all the 12 aspirants of PDP,  no one has earned the popularity, admiration and love of the people like Dr Godwin Maduka. Very organic and overwhelming.

Despite coming from a Corporate and private sector, a person who has not occupied any government position or office before, has done so much in human Capital development, youth employment and development, medical out-reach, grants to the indigents, widows and less privileged. All these philanthropic and humanitarian services he has continued to offer for over 20 years has earned him a lot of popularity in the state.

Even some of the aspirants who have served in government or currently serving, cannot match their constitutional mandate to provide services, as public officer(s) and government, with Maduka’s philanthropic and humanitarian services overtime. No wonder every average party member or Anambra person wants Dr Godwin Maduaka to be on the ballot paper come November 6.

• International Connection And Technocratic Skills.

No candidate or aspirants of PDP and other political parties can match Dr Godwin Maduka’s international connection and sagacity. Dr Maduka successfully runs chains of hospitals in the United States of America and series of international and corporate business  across the globe. He has cognizance experience and expertise in corporate and public governance needed to position Anambra for a global economic breakthrough.

Now The PDP has made this Clossial mistake, is there any way to make amends by the ongoing appeal panel in addressing the mistake and better still, field the best and popular candidate Dr Godwin Maduka to INEC?

Ndi-Anambra what is your wish and move? Now that your preferred choice candidate, Dr Godwin Maduka is missing as PDP’s candidate and Flagbearer?

Prince Uche Secondus, the National Chairman of the PDP, presented the certificate to Ozigbo on Wednesday, June 30, 2021, at the National Headquarters of the PDP at Wadata House, Wuse Zone 5, Abuja.

The certificate was issued to Mr Valentine Ozigbo amid few controversies within PDP Anambra State following the June 26th concluded PDP primaries for Anambra State Governorship election, after some aggrieved candidates who lost in the primaries accused the PDP party of compromising the standard of the primaries.

A disqualified former Anambra State gubernatorial aspirant of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) Nze Akachukwu Nwankpo has formally joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to continue his pursuit for the 2021 governorship Election.

Recall that Nze Akachukwu Nwankpo who was the former SA to President Goodluck Jonathan has in recent time, in a press release from his media office said that he has accepted the disenfranchisement rule by APGA.

In the Press Release seen by 9News Nigeria, Hon Akachukwu Nwankpo said that he has accepted his former political party APGA’s decision of disqualifying him from contesting in the last governorship primaries after laying claims that the governor told him that the party has optioned for Soludo.

This latest announcement of Hon Akachukwu Nwankpo’s defection from APGA to the African Democratic Party (ADC) may come as a surprise to the political space but there was a strong indication that the Ihiala born politician has been in talks with the ADC’s leadership for too long before now.

APGA Governorship primaries held on June 23rd 2021 produced former CBN Governor, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo as the candidate for Anambra State governorship election coming up in November 6th 2021.

Recall that on the day of the APGA primaries that was held at the Prof. Dora Akunyili Women Development Center, Awka, a faction of the party issued a notice that Prof. Charles Soludo has been disqualified from taking part in the party’s primaries.

However, Governor Willie Obiano’s faction with the official mandate and supervision of the INEC proceeded to conduct the party primaries and Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo was declared the winner.

Valentine Ozigbo has won the PDP Primary election held in Awka on Saturday 26th June 2021 and now the party’s candidate for November Anambra State Governorship election.

The result of the primaries was announced by the Chairman of the PDP Anambra State primaries election, Edo State Deputy Governor, Phillip Shuaibu who declared Valentine Ozigbo the winner of the just concluded PDP Anambra State governorship primaries in Awka.

Out of the16 PDP governorship aspirants that contested in the primary election, Valentine Ozigbo emerged the winner with 62 votes.

In his acceptance speech, Mr Valentine Ozigbo thanked the party leadership for such a transparent election and asked his fellow contestants to join hand with him and ensure that PDP takes over the seat of governorship in Anambra State for the good of all.

“I want to appreciate my fellow aspirants, as I don’t think that there are any winners as losers. We all are the winners. I want to beg and plead with all my fellow aspirants that participated in this to understand the need for us to come together to work in harmony because that is the only thing that will make us conquer.”

“As for the Anambra people, this is the beginning of something great. We are here to change our story. This is to show that Anambra State will be returned to PDP come November 6 election”

Valentine Ozigbo clinched the primaries with 62 votes to defeat his closest rival, Obiora Okonkwo and Senator Uche Ekwunife who got 58 and 44 votes respectively.

Recall that on 10th June 2021, Valentine Ozigbo floored Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, Dr Godwin Maduka, Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, Godwin Ezeemo, Senator Uche Ekwunife in a Viral Online Poll conducted by 9News Nigeria ahead of Anambra Governorship election party primaries.

Other candidates that participated in the viral online poll include, Chuma Nzeribe, Dr Ifedi Okwenna, Johnbosco Onukwo, Dr Tony Nwoye, Chris Azubogu, Okwudili Ezenwankwo, and Paul Orajiaka.

The poll conducted by 9News Nigeria shows that out of 13,870 vote casts, PDP frontrunner, Valentine Ozigbo polled a total of 2,770 votes to emerge the winner while the All Progressives Congress Alliance (APGA) aspirant, Prof Charles Soludo polled 2,705 to come second in the viral online poll.

The only female candidate among the governorship aspirants, Senator Uche Ekwunife polled a total of 988 votes to come 6th in the line.

Anambra State PDP Governorship aspirant Rt. Hon. Chuma Nzeribe has declared withdrawal from PDP governorship primaries going on today in Awka.

In an official letter sent to 9News Nigeria which was titled “Chuma Nzeribe chides PDP NWC for fiddling with Delegates list,” Hon Chuma Nzeribe has scolded the PDP National electoral committee accusing them of altering party delegates lists.

The letter signed by the aspirant reads in part: “Hon Chuma Nzeribe chides the PDP headquarters for yet again altering party Delegates list today even as the primary election process is underway.”

The House of Reps member said that he is expressing his sympathy and support for the 3,000 disenfranchised PDP Ward & Ad-Hoc Delegates due to unnecessary litigations.

“And I express my sympathy and support for the 3,000 disenfranchised PDP Ward & Ad-Hoc Delegates due to unnecessary litigations.”

“I shall therefore immediately withdraw from this contest. PDP HQ should note that choosing a Governorship candidate with mere 200 super delegates is not the best but as a loyal party man I shall back any chosen PDP flag-bearer.”

“Thank you, please! Rt. Hon Chuma Nzeribe”

Similarly, Dr Tony Nwoye and Barrister Emeka Etiaba (SAN) have earlier today declared that they have stepped down from the ongoing PDP governorship primaries citing nullification of the delegates by a High court.

According to 9News Nigeria Anambra State correspondent present at the venue of the primaries, the two candidates declared that they are stepping down from the primaries because there have been numerous court judgements and disenfranchisement of statutory and ad-hoc delegates.

In another report earlier on Saturday 26th June 2021, 9News Nigeria had reported that erstwhile Anambra State PDP chairman, Ndubuisi Nwobu has obtained an order nullifying the Super Delegates list that should vote for the governorship aspirants today.

We have witnessed a lot of schemes by the enemies of Anambra whose aim is to distablize our state and plunge our state into anarchy. We have seen how the federal court in Abuja nullified the Excos of our great party PDP and now has gone ahead to ensure that sanity and peace is restored in our party by recommending the use of super delegates instead of the statutory delegates to vote for a credible aspirant with verifiable proof of work done while in government.

I have in my little capacity tried to educate my people ndi Anambra about a man sent by God to save us from certain destruction. A man whose track record in government can not be matched by any of the current aspirants. He did marvelously well for Anambra state under the administration of H.E Peter Obi, at that time as a commissioner of Environment and later Science and Technology.

Dr Ifedi Okwenna was the former Commissioner for Environment, Mineral Resources and Science and Technology, in Anambra State between 2006 and 2008 and for those two years won the best Commissioner for Environment award in Nigeria. He led Nigeria in many international fora on Environment. His era as Commissioner for Environment was a golden period for Anambra as far as environmental issues went.
He was the person who turned the notorious Upper Iweka roundabout into a Garden Park which, luckily, is still being maintained today.

He cleaned up the Bridge Head, Onitsha, hitherto occupied by various livestock sellers making the entrance to Anambra State unsightly and dirty. He eased up any form of traffic gridlock from Asaba end into Onitsha and ensured that entrance into Anambra was easy and effortless. He cleaned up the 50-year-old Creek Road dump site and today that large expanse of land retrieved from the garbage heap has been built up with industries, markets and residential houses. He cleaned up the 35year old Enugu road by High Court Garbage mountain, which was about 38 metres high, opened Otumoye/Nwangene Creek to serve as buffer to River Niger during high and low tide to de-flood Onitsha and opened up the internal drainage network for flood control in Onitsha.

Under him the State Government constructed the Awka Flood Management scheme, which controlled the notorious Iyiagu Flood that swallowed a number of public buildings and hotels including Parktonia Hotel, Crescent Springs and nearly cut off the Enugu – Onitsha expressway. Dr Okwenna designed a comprehensive master plan for Flood Control in Awka creating a provision for development of a Lake in Awka.
During that time, a total of 185 active erosion sites were studied, designed and costed while 16 sites were constructed by the Peter Obi led Government under the supervision of Ifedi Okwenna.

They include 2 in Awka, 3 at Nnewi, 3 in Onitsha/Nkpor, Omaba, I in Ekwulobia, 2 in Nnaka, I in Uga, 1 in Osumenyi/Utuh, 1 in Oko.and 1 in Owelle Ezukala. He saw to the introduction in Anambra State, the Nigerian Erosion and Watershed Management Project (NEWMAP), which is a World bank assisted project aimed at addressing the Nigerian gully erosion crisis in South Eastern Nigeria and land degradation in Northern Nigeria on a multi-dimensional scale. Since he left office, not much have taken place in that sector.
He planned and commenced a $495,000 waste to energy facility for Idemili which would have provided 188 Mw of hybrid electricity using 3000 tons of waste and gas, creating 3500 direct jobs.

The project would have been funded by the International Financial Consortium on build operate and transfer (BOT) bases. Funding for this project was already secured and approved and all necessary designs and studies were completed but was abandoned after his exit.

the take over of the Nnewi Incubation Centre from the Federal Government by Anambra State Government and with his effort turned the Centre to a Finishing School, building young entrepreneurs who were retrained and given factory spaces at Ozubulu industrial Centre, He built a Sugarcane Processing Plant at Omor and established a Government owned company for exploration of kaolin in Ukpor.

Ifedi Okwenna funded the rebuilding of the abandoned science block at Boys High School Osumenyi, renovated classrooms at both Osumenyi Boys and Osumenyi Community Secondary School (Osumenyi Girls), Central School (St Lawrence), Omaigwe Community and Osumenyi Community schools.

Fellow Anambrarians, if you read through my write up above you discover that Dr Ifedi is a God sent to us, also in the past few days, you will discover that I spoke against the rot in PDP and how some faction of the party tried to impose an aspirant on us which is against the ethics, the rules and regulations of our beloved party. Anambra state chapter of PDP is bigger than one man, and no one has the monopoly of violence or no one can take our party hostage thinking he can manipulate everyone in the party because of money.

At this stage I still come to you all with the message of PEACE, LOVE, HOPE AND TOLERANCE. This message is a message to all, a message to those who want to experience real CHANGE in our beloved State. PDP has been out of power for almost 16 years and the leaders and the sacked excos has not yet learned their lessons, if not what on earth would have pitched the PDP excos and the High Chief in a legal tussle to the extent that the incumbents congress, tenure and election was nullified yesterday by a court.

All these power tussle is what I warned of before now in my last write up. Though we still have another chance presented to us by God to make things right and this last chance is given to know other than the Super delegates who are now our last hope. In other for PDP to get things right now, let the Super delegates who are not lobbying for money or any position because by virtue they have attained all the heights and fame before now and are capable of delivering a statement that will gain the interest of PDP. Faithfuls.

Today being 26th of June 2021 is the D day, but the truth remains if PDP has learned their lessons? Are they willing to give the right man the job? Are they ready to sheathe their sword and embrace love and unity of purpose to select the right aspirant who will unify the other aspirants? Are they ready to work together to win the election and return to Agu Awka? I introduce to you once again the man that can transform Anambra state to the mega city we all crave for. Dr Ifedi Okwenna who has a track record in government for all he has done during his time as a two time commissioner. He is competent, creative, capable, intelligent, humble, prudent and above all he pays attention to result oriented methods.

Dr Ifedi Okwenna is a desicplined man, he treats everyone equally, no matter your status, whether rich or poor, he does not believe in nepotism and favoritism, he gives the best man the job. He is a good administrator, a good listener, and a reading leader. Two Anambra 2021 Governorship aspirants have stepped down from participating in the ongoing PDP Governorship primaries in Awka following news of a High Court nullifying the super delegates.

According to 9News Nigeria Anambra State correspondent present at the venue of the primaries, the two candidates, Barrister Emeka Etiaba and Hon. Tony Nwoye declared that they are stepping down from the primaries citing numerous court judgements and disenfranchisement of statutory and ad-hoc delegates.

9News Nigeria had earlier reported that erstwhile Anambra State PDP chairman, Ndubuisi Nwobu has obtained an order nullifying the Super Delegates list that should vote for the governorship aspirants today.

Anambra State is God’s own state blessed with abundant natural and human resources. God has great interest in our, that is why our state has an edge over other South East states and states in other regions in Nigeria in the sense that it is blessed with able men and women that are great leaders in their field of specialization. This is the reason why nobody can get hold of our State to suppress or oppress anyone in politics in the name of godfatherism.

Anambra enjoyed a peaceful, progressive and a successful era in all spheres under The leadership of the administration of former Gov. H.E Peter Obi. Unfortunately that era is forgotten because the incumbent governor helped the enemies of the State to scrape both the wool and the skin of the state. This caused the Brightest light in Southern Nigeria to deem and it’s brightness no longer glow and gross darkness came upon Anambra state and her Glory departed (Ichabod).

The administration of H.E Peter Obi left a lot of money in the government coffers to help the then incoming administration settle down without complaining about funds availability, but today, under the incumbent, Anambra state is a debtor state with Billions of naira being spent and looted with none accounted for. This is not good for our beloved state.

As shepherds of the state, they are supposed to trim the wool of our beloved state and feed the sheep in order to extract enough milk and wool for all, but instead of trimming the wool, the incumbent is busy scraping both the wool and the skin together causing serious bleeding and a near death experience for our state.

The administration of the incumbent in the last seven years brought untold hardship on the people of Anambra like never before. This is the reason for the numerous cries of Anambrarians for another Moses of our time, who will come and show us the way out of Impunity, nepotism, cluelessness, ineptitude, bribery, corruption, incompetence, hunger and poverty etc.

A man sent by God who knows the terrain, a man highly motivated, inspired by God with vision and mission for Anambra State. A man with CAPACITY, INNOVATIVE, EFFECTIVE AND EFFICIENT IDEAS, PROGRAMS AND AGENDAS that will bring back the lost glory of the Light of the Nation with a (27 Point Agenda and 5 Objective plans). A man in whom the gods have decreed and declared fit and capable to go and save Anambra State, Dr Ifedi Okwenna Ugwumba Osumenyiis the man.

While Anambrarians were looking for a leader who would lighten the heavy burden laid on their shoulders by the (TASK MASTERS) the incumbent, who mortgaged the future of their unborn children. God was busy preparing this world class entity, a king in the making, a sage, a master planner, a UNIFIER, a man who will not only restore hope to the hopeless in our state, but a man who will raise the shoulders of Anambrarians high and restore peace, prosperity, progress and justice and alas return the state to her rightful place among the best states in Nigeria, Africa and the World at large.

I personally evaluated the aspirants vying for governorship position of our state and I discovered some very important facts, some of the aspirants from PDP, APGA, APC and others parties are focused on getting to office and start work, some are showcasing personal projects, Constituency projects, attending burials, weddings, posing in hospitals, farms, poultry to show us that they are ready to work, which is not the yardstick to access someone who has been in government ability as the State Chief Security. I also discovered insincerity, dishonesty, pride, arrogance, boasting and desperation among other vices in these aspirants.

After these evaluations, I discovered that the only candidate capable of UNIFYING the people of Anambra state, making South East a PDP dominated region, a listening leader that will create jobs, put money in the pockets of Anambrarians, cloth them, provide basic amenities, education, healthcare, security and above all restoring HOPE to the hopeless, shelter to destitutes, giving everyone equal right in the state is no other person than Dr Ifedi Okwenna, Ugwumba Osumenyi.

He is a man with many parts, he has CAPACITY to deliver on his promises, he is Able, Amiable and Amicable, a perfect gentleman, a philanthropist, a master planner, a strategist and a HUMBLE Man.

For our State to thrive again, Dr Ifedi Okwenna is the perfect imprint, the express image of the deliverer we hope to see in Agu Awka come March 17 2022, he will be the benchmark or blueprint for other governors to follow based on what he will do in governance in the future.
If given the chance, he will transform our state to a modern State-city like Dubai, New York or Singapore.

Dr Ifedi Okwenna, Ugwumba Osumenyi, is a complete gentleman and prefers to communicate with men of low estate or the common man on the streets and his major source of strength comes from the masses.

He is a grassroot political principality, he knows the political terrain of our state, he knows the many problems of our State more than any of the aspirants and has the solution to all the many problems of our state. He is a shoulder to lean on in whatever situation you are faced with, whenever you come in contact with him, he has something positive and encouraging to tell you that will satisfy your curiosity. Dr Ifedi Okwenna is the bridge between the older generation and the younger generation.

Talk of someone who wants to lead Anambra and he is coming from abroad, how will he understand when someone from Anyamelu, Otuocha, Ogbaru, Orumba, Nnewi South is complaining about lack of infrastructure and government presence in those areas? Dr Ifedi Okwenna is an Anambra based grassroot politícian and has been in politics for a very long time.
He is a reading leader who understands the peculiarities and particularities of Anambra State in all spheres.

He has the contacts, the connections abroad with multi national companies, world trade organizations etc that will quickly come and invest in our rich natural resources to generate revenue for the state to bounce back.

Anambra state PDP delegates, it’s up to you to see beyond the happenings in Anambra state politics today and think of tomorrow, you can accept to partner with Dr Ifedi Okwenna and find yourself within the corridors of power or choose to take peanuts or more during the primaries and wait for another 8 year to come back and seek for another peanuts to thrive on.

AWKA (9News Nigeria) – A faction of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) led by Chief Jude Okeke has announced the suspension of Professor Charles Soludo from the party.

Soludo, a former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) is a frontline gubernatorial aspirant for the Anambra governorship election.

His suspension was announced on Wednesday by the Ag. National Publicity Secretary of the Chief Okeke-led faction, Ikechukwu Chukwunyere.

Briefing journalists in Abuja, Chukwunyere explained that Soludo was suspended for anti-party activities, adding that the decision to suspend him was taken late Tuesday night at the meeting of the Party.

He said, ”The NWC also applauded the members of the party in Anambra State who thronged to the Ward offices across the 326 Wards in the state to elect the 3 man Ward delegates who would elect the Governorship candidate of the Party on 1st July, 2021 in line with the provisions of the Party Constitution, INEC Guidelines and the Electoral Act.

“The Party is ready for the July 1 primary election and the winner will lead APGA to victory at the November 6th, 2021 Governorship election.”

He added that the governorship primary election held in Awka on Wednesday, June 23, is “a sham and effort in futility maintaining that in due time, the courts will declare it as invalid, unconstitutional, null, void and of no effect whatsoever.”

Further stating that “the National Executive Committee of our Party has just finished meeting and has ratified the Delegates list for onward submission to INEC in line with the INEC Guidelines”

However, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) may technically rule out the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) from participating in the forthcoming governorship election in Anambra State scheduled for November 6, 2021.

By this time, most of you would have retired from active politics or may have lost interest as a result of old age or via many other ways because no one can predict the future and what will happen.

Therefore capitalize on this golden opportunity given to you by God to rescue Anambra state from its sinking state and ensure that a credible and a visionary leader who will navigate the sinking ship to safety emerges as the winner.

You can do it in your lifetime, it’s possible, because you have the chance to do it now, but the question is, are you willing to let go of monetary and personal gains so PDP will win??? or are you rather going to allow the state to drown while chasing shadows??? The choice is yours.

You should count it a very wonderful Privilege and a great task for you to fulfill purpose in life by doing the right thing for the right cause. Seeing Yourselves among the power brokers of our state today that will either make or mar our beloved State is not by accident and not a means to make money or to enrich yourself, rather you were chosen at this point in time to ensure that PDP’s 16 wasted years comes to an abrupt end. You can do it!!

Some of you may have been secretly promised political posts before now, one thing or the other as the case may be so that you will compromise. Please think twice my friend, before you cast your vote because money is not everything.

Think of it, can this chicken money they promised to give you so you can support them, CHANGE your life, the life of your wife, that of your children and our beloved State???? Anyone, giving you money to vote for him or her, wants to mortgage your future and that of your children when he or she assumes the office. Listen to your heart, allow your Spirit to guide you on who to vote for on that day.

Remember all that glitters is not gold. They will promise you heaven and earth but as soon as they are sworn in, you become a Mr and Mrs nobody (chaff).

As you can see at the moment, the rot in PDP leadership, the mess everywhere, some factions want their man to pick the ticket, some want to use court injunctions, some wants the aspirant they are loyal to, to win by all means and at all cost and they are not even bothered if this aspirant is credible, if he or she can win election, if he or she knows the political terrain of our beloved state Anambra.

These are the questions you should ask yourselves before you cast your vote on the 26th.

If we continue this way of money politics and money bags and the highest bidder takes it, it will be bad for PDP and this will cost our party a serious image damage and will make PDP our party to wait for another 24 years before returning to power. Your actions or inaction on the day of the decision (26th June 2021) will determine the number of years PDP will wait before getting to Agu Awka if they select the wrong candidate.

PDP Anambra chapter please brace up and change the political narratives in this state by voting for an astute administrator, a prudent, honest and a humble man. Remember that 26th of June will be the day to either make history with PDP Anambra state chapter or forever mar the party in the political space of the State.

Dr Ifedi Okwenna is a 2 time former commissioner under H.E Peter Obi’s administration, he is a tested and a trusted Candidate that will redeem the image of Anambra state.

In a message released by the former National Publicity Secretary to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Olisa Metuh has decried the wanton display of money by some PDP guber candidates ahead of the parties primaries in weeks.

In the message made available to 9News Nigeria Anambra State correspondent, Chief Olisa Metuh said that in the present attempt at getting it right, there has been unanimity of purpose by almost all the aspirants to conduct a flawless Congress and primaries devoid of money politics, violence and fraud.

He said that after meeting with all the aspirants in his home town of Nnewi, they all resolved to cut the financial cost of primaries for the obvious reasons that it is worthless for the aspirants to waste all their money in the bid to clinch the primaries.

That when the primaries is meant for the highest bidder, the winner would have spent so much money that he would be left without funds to prosecute the general election and without access to any federal or home state assistance.

Chief Olisa Metuh compared such scenario as the “the curse of pyrrhic victories” which should be avoided.

PDP ANAMBRA STATE … the curse of pyrrhic victories.

In 279 B.C King Pyrrhus of Epirud led his Greek soldiers to invade the Romans at Asculum in Apulia, modern-day Italy. Pyrrhus won the battle but lost most of his elite soldiers. Today, pyrrhic victory is known as a victory not worth winning because so much is lost to achieve it.

Anambra has always been the tipping point for the leaders of the PDP because of the strength of the different warlords attempting full control, perennially. The party has witnessed many generals, commanders and leaders who at various times have sought to win control of governorship primaries with a wanton display of money, violence and even through fraudulent means or with court orders and judgements.

In the present attempt at getting it right, there has been unanimity of purpose by almost all the aspirants to conduct a flawless Congress and primaries devoid of money politics, violence and fraud.

On Sunday 6th June, I held a meeting with all the aspirants in my home in Nnewi. We all resolved to cut the financial cost of primaries for the following reasons:

1. When left to the highest bidder, the winner would have spent so much money that he would be left without funds to prosecute the general election and without access to any federal or home state assistance.
2. The losers would have spent so much that they cannot get immediate refunds from the winner thereby making them susceptible to being wooed by the ruling parties at the federal and state levels. Besides, a low budget primaries would allow the loosers to make financial contributions to the winner towards the general election.
3. Finally, the party executives and delegates would have made so much monies from the aspirants and would be more concerned with investing their earnings rather than being motivated to focus their energies on the general election. An average party man who suddenly receives enormous funds as consultations and logistics from different aspirants would not be bothered about the gamble of general election as he would have considered his immediate needs and ambitions satisfied.

The aspirants also committed to peaceful process devoid of rancour, sponsored media attacks and blackmail. We all prayed and made a collective covenant with God. However, with benefit of hindsight that covenant should have included a commitment to God for free and fair primaries.

The same week the curse of King Pyrrhus victories struck again and we witnessed court judgements and perverse attempts to truncate the primaries. The stories are too many and these attempts are puerile, infantile and futile as they remain hollow and worthless.

My prayers are that we should avoid any method or solution that will still lead to PYRRHIC VICTORY as any candidate produced through a judgement or imposed through a fraudulent process would be struggling for the 4th position in the general elections.

A 2-term FMR House of Reps member & PDP Governorship aspirant in Anambra State, Rt. Hon. Chuma Nzeribe has reacted to the harsh words of President Muhammadu Buhari on his official Twitter handle where he reminded the people of the harrowing and horrible events of the Civil War in 1967-1970.

Speaking to newsmen Honorable Chuma Nzeribe said, “it’s wrong for Mr. President to use that particular ugly incident that cast a cloak of darkness in the history of Nigeria to attempt to address issues of insecurity beleaguering his administration referencing the South-East and the wanton destruction of infrastructure.
He went on further to say that even though the president while addressing the issues tried to explain that the people agitating for a separation may have been going about it the wrong way, it was UNPRESIDENTIAL for him to have further tried to use the events of the Civil War to buttress his point.

The president ought to know that language is key when communicating to a people he governs, he said.

The former lawmaker also used the opportunity to appeal for calm in the South-East and advised various Governors to sit up and nip the insecurity issues affecting their various states in the bud to lives & properties which is the first obligation of any government.

He came to discuss with all the stakeholders in Anambra South as Brothers and Sisters on the way forward with regards to the interest of Anambra South come November 6 Governorship election and his candidacy in PDP.

This special event had in attendance all the big wigs of PDP in Anambra South including former State house of Assembly members, commissioners, Party leaders and those who have served under the regime of PDP in Anambra South.

On his arrival, The state vice chairman Chief Emma Ebene, who is also the vice Chairman Anambra South PDP, gave a welcome speech and stressed on the need for all the stakeholders to come together and make a decision that will favour  Anambra South. Dr. Godwin Maduka was introduced by his campaign DG, Chief Mike Joe Onwudinjo as he pleaded with the stakeholders to consider Dr. Godwin Maduka who has done so much as an individual in order to transform Anambra State.

Dr Godwin Maduka while addressing the stakeholders in Anambra South PDP made known his numerous achievements both home and abroad. Okosisi expressed his readiness with the support of Ndi Anambra, especially Anambra South to win the PDP ticket for the Governorship position come Nov 6.

Dr Godwin Maduka went on to encourage all the PDP stakeholders in Anambra South to show their concern and seriousness for being denied the Governorship position of Anambra State.

Therefore, he is of the opinion that all hands must be on deck to make sure he gets the PDP ticket and also win the Governorship election .

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) @OfficialPDPNig has successfully conducted Ward and LGA Congresses in line with constitutional provisions of the party and other relevant authorities to maximize the voting strength of the delegates and that of the electorates from the constituency for election purposes.

The event which was held at Nora Suites Ihiala as directed by the PDP National Working Committee was attended by Anambra State Chairman of the party Hon Sir Ndubisi Nwobu, a prominent PDP gubernatorial aspirant and former member House of Rep Hon Chuma Nzeribe @ChumaNzeribe, Chief Emma Ebene, Hon Vincent Atuigwe, Sir Fred Udensi, Chief JJ Malizu, Sir Chris Chikwelu Jnr, amongst other prominent stakeholders of the constituency and esteemed party members.

Recall that Ihiala LGA had previously elected ward officers and 18 members of the LGA Executive in 2017, but the excercise was declared null and void considering that it wasn’t mornitored by the relevant electoral authority INEC.

INEC was on ground on Saturday and Monday 18th May, 2021 to officially monitor the congresses conducted by PDP in Ihiala LGA and they were overwhelmed by the conduct, enthusiasm and commitment of members, stakeholders and leaders of the party to address issues surrounding the legality of party structure.

In his opening address, the state chairman of the party Hon Sir Ndubisi Nwobu (Obuka Awka) expressed satisfaction with the massive turnout of members, introduced the members of the electoral committee and appeal panel. He also enjoined the delegates to be of good conduct to ensure a free, fair and credible congress.

Chairman of the Congress Committee Dr Ndukwe Adindu took over and mandated a member of his team to conduct the election from the position of Ex-Officio Members to that of LGA Chairman. Aspirants were voted and returned elected as substantive officers of the LGA in a hitch free election.

The successful conclusion of congresses in Ihiala has indeed repositioned the Anambra State chapter of PDP for inevitable victory in upcoming polls, considering the voting strength of the council area which could’ve fallen into the wrong hands in the wrong political party if the issues were not so ratified.

The newly elected chairman of Ihiala LGA Chief Nath Ikwuka in his acceptance speech expressed gratitude to God and appreciation to everyone that contributed to the successful conclusion of the congresses.

He declared the council area as a confirmed PDP block, citing the successful conduct of the congresses as a major breakthrough and an edge over other political parties who’s political interest and expectations have become a pipedream as it stands.

The LGA Chairman was vocal in stating that Ihiala will stop at nothing to mobilizing massively, canvassing with optimism and voting gallantly for the Peoples Democratic Party in subsequent elections, adding that all they were concerned about at the moment is victory for PDP at the ballot.

Hon Nwobu and Dr Ndukwe in their separate closing remarks commended the participants for their show of commitment, maturity and brotherhood, noting that the need for love, peace and unity in every endeavour cannot be overemphasized.

Additionally, they advised members who might have contrary views about the excercise to channel such grievances and complaints to the appeal panel that will be sitting on Tuesday 18/05/2021 at the State Secretariat Awka by 10:00am.

Few hours ago, at the country home of the former central bank of NIGERIA CBN governor, professor CHUKWUMA Suludo, a conglomerate of youth groups in ANAMBRA state turned out en masse to present a whooping cheque of 2million naira to charge him to express interest in the ANAMBRA GOVERNORSHIP race.

Speaking with 9News Nigeria, the leader of the group hinted that Youth Earnestly Seek Soludo (YESS Anambra), is an Umbrella of youth bodies in ANAMBRA state that has the interest of the development of the state as their foremost focus.

The group however Presented Two Million Naira Cheque For The Purchase of Soludo’s Expression of Interest Form.

The Executives and Members of the Youth Group have said that this is in line with the underlying stakeholding philosophy of YESS, wherein members seek for ways of improving the system rather than depleting it.

YESS, according to them is a Socio-political organisation targeted at improving the youths of ANAMBRA state and to better the society through voting possible best hands to governor the state.

The group did not mince words to present Professor Soludo as the best aspirant in the race.

They however called on ANAMBRA people to see good reasons to vote the former CBN governor Suludo having tested his capacity while he was in charge of the banking sector, his philanthropy, wealth of knowledge of leadership and the best articulating approach to be govern the state.

Youth Earnestly Seek Soludo (YESS Anambra) took it as a surprise to storm the Isuofia country home of Professor Chukwuma Soludo, where they presented a Cheque of Two Million Naira for the Purchase of the Expression of Interest Form.

YESS posited earlier that a vote to SOLUDO is the best ANAMBRA can have at this pressing time when governance and politics have gone digital.

There is therefore a sounding YESS to SULUDO as a Greater Anambra is Possible.

The Former National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Chief Victor Umeh has described the former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, who has in the past attempted to fly the party’s flag in the Anambra state governorship election as an unelectable, and remain difficult to sell to Ndi Anambra state for 2021 election.

Umeh said, prior to the party’s primary election then, he was already receiving phone calls from people across the state who were asking him not to field the former CBN boss if he wanted the party to retain the governorship position in the state, someone said in a plain terms that if Soludo wins the APGA tickets, he will work against APGA and that same group are still APGA member’s till today, and nothing has changed about their position for soludo.

While fielding questions in an audience participatory interview programme in Rhythm FM tagged ‘Viewpoint’, which was monitored in Awka, Umeh cleared the air about the rumour in the state that Soludo’s has been anointed to succeed chief Willie Obiano,with entire consent of the NWC of the party was a plan to distract a serious aspirants from making waves by some blocks in APGA which can not happen as we have experienced much from non party members, who came to destroy than to build APGA, especially after the 2018/2019 election.

To buttress more , soludo said that the leadership of the party decided to draw up a form to be filled by every aspirant with a question which demanded to know if an aspirant had ever been detained for any case of fraud or had a pending case, this he said Soludo answered ‘NO’ to.

It’s on record that Soludo has once being arrested by men of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, for matters bothering on frauds, and misappropriation of public funds when he was the governor of CBN. When he was reminded about the incident he said ‘oh, that it was a calculated attampt to cripple his political ambitions by some bad elements from Isuofia, and his local government Aguata who never wish him well, those he was referring to are still part of our great party today. So, it is clear he only wanted to deceive the party,as to hijack the tickets, knowingly that he won’t win the general election thereby creating chances for the Opposition to take over Agu Awka.

The last time I checked, Soludo was going about saying all manner of rubbish and using guinea pigs to publish falsehood in the media about me and the APGA, then when i challenge him to include his signature to any of those write-ups he has been dishing out he ran away, the point is that when I was the Party National chairman of APGA, I have studied Prof Soludo inside-out and come to understand he does not keep relationship with anyone who comes around him for tomorrow, rather he kills the contact and that’s final for him.

Soludo himself has told one of his friends that major problems to his aspirations 2021 could be hitch by chief Umeh following his raising influence and relationships with Umeoji’s, I want to said categorically, Soludo still have the time to join and contest the election on the platform of another party, because so far am still in APGA and member of NWC of the party, and if he feels chief Umeh is the problem to his political ambitions, let him check himself very well to know if the Prof is a problem to himself, with this and many other things coming out from his camp, we have come to believe that
Soludo is plotted to disconnect APGA from Agu in 2021 but we can’t allow such.

Soludo contested in 2010 and we won him, if he is as good as some people want to make us believe, why did they not elect him then?” Umeh asked.

Speaking on the aspirations of other aspirants in APGA, Umeh said “ candidate APGA needs now is a candidate who is without blemish, who knows inside-out of Anambra political engagement, and who has an outstanding record of achievement that originated from Anambra state.

Soludo is an unelectable & ambitious but politically blinds.

It was a memorable day as Aluta spirit was seen hovering over Uga Community, the home town of High Chief Nnamdi Dike,Ohamadike Uga on the late hours of Thursday the 15th day of April 2021.

The frontier Pro-Ifeanyi Ubah group, and fastest growing student based group in Anambra State, IFEANYI UBAH STUDENTS SUPPORT GROUP(IUSSG) stormed the place of a serial philanthropist, human capital developer cum political young Lord OHAMADIKE UGA as he played host to the group in his bid to gather strong force for Sen. Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah.

The Students Support group was led by her grand patron High Chief Stephen Mbachukwu(Gosife Nnewi) and the National Coordinator Hon. Comr. Amobi Okonkwo( Anunuebe Nnewi). The meeting had in attendance student leaders from different campuses of higher learning such as Unizik Awka Campus,OKOPOLY,Tansian University,Unizik Nnewi Campus,Anambra College of health Obosi,COOU Uli and Igbariam and others.

AWKA (9News Nigeria) – Former Central Bank Governor, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo has escaped an assassination attempt after unknown gunmen stormed his hometown, Isuofia and opened fire killing attached policemen on the spot.

Soludo who is the Anambra State 2021 Governorship election aspirant under the All Progressive Grand Alliance party was having a meeting with some members of his hometown when the unknown gunmen stormed the venue and started shooting sporadically.

While Soludo was saved from the assassination attempt, 9News Nigeria Awka correspondent gathered that three mobile policemen attached to him were gunned down as they tried to dislodge the assassins. It was revealed that the gunmen succeeded in abducting a police commissioner before they escaped.

As of the time of this report, the whereabouts of the abducted police officer has not been known, as an investigation into the unfortunate incident has been opened up by the state’s police command.

9News Nigeria learnt that the APGA Governorship candidate, Charles Soludo has been whisked away to an unknown destination where is safe and recovering from the shock of the incident.

Recall that the National Electoral Commission has scheduled Anambra Governorship Election to hold on November 6th 2021.

In recent times, there have been sporadic cases of unknown gunmen attacks that led to the shooting and killing of innocents citizens, police and other security agents in Anambra state, South-East Nigeria and other places in the country.

Dr Okwenna thereby extolled the quality leadership attributes of Peter Obi, who showed that “Anambra State is not cursed rather that we are the cause”.

The former Anambra State Commissioner for Environment, Mineral Resources, Science and Technology stated that he is in the race to govern Anambra State; To make Anambra State a prime destination for youths in Nigeria; to become a centre of commerce, trade, agriculture, industry, science and technology, and a leader in innovation and entrepreneurship development.

Dr Okwenna stated that he wants to enthrone a system where the government does its job, caring for and protecting its citizens anywhere they may be. To lead a government that restores the pride of Ndi Anambra once again and make them willing to create and own her narratives.

The Director-General, World Igbo Summit Group, said he has started the preparation to becoming the Governor of the State right from his Primary 4 and because of the long preparation, he has less baggage and more quality plans and ideas to deploy to build Anambra State.

He stated that: “without sounding immodest, I am humble, honest, and has the ability to apply a bottom-top approach to governance”. He also said that he will be able to stand for Ndi Anambra and Ndigbo generally in all the four corners of the globe whenever the need arises and will extract the best of Ndi Anambra to develop the State.

The erudite, cerebral and innovative Governorship Aspirant, said that he is determined to provide leadership with strong political will and shall be transparent, accountable and will apply the due process in all public procurements to ensure that Ndi Anambra get the real value for their money.

He further promised to be prudent and ensure that his government is not wasteful and flamboyant. He said he will discharge his duties diligently and honestly, providing equal opportunities for all with meritocracy as his guiding principle.

ANAMBRA: OUR INCOMING GOVERNMENT MUST BE TRANSPARENT ENOUGH

AWKA (9News Nigeria) – The PDP Governorship Aspirant in this year’s Anambra State Governorship election, Dr Ifedi Okwenna, has raised hope for NDI ANAMBRA by his resolute assurance for a brand new era where competent and transparent governance is guaranteed as he becomes the next governor of the state.

Dr Ifedi charged Ndi Anambra that it should no more be business as usual, but that the state should ensure the emergence of a candidate who will run a transparent government.

Speaking when he paid a courtesy call on the President General of Nkpor Development Union, Chief Emeka Mbagha, as part of his tour of Idemili North Local Government, the former Anambra State Commissioner for Environment, Mineral Resources, Science and Technology, said the people’s trust in Government has tremendously gone down as a result of lack of transparency and accountability in the system.

He called on Ndi Nkpor to massively vote PDP in this year’s Governorship elections to ensure the enthronement of a transparent and accountable government. Dr Okwenna informed the President General and the people of Nkpor who came to welcome him, that he is in the Governorship race to innovate, grow and develop Anambra State. He lamented that Anambra cities are decaying and roads deteriorating without visible government efforts to ameliorate them. Nkpor, according to him, is part of the greater Onitsha and Idemili which dominate in its contribution to the State’s internally generated revenue, but which, unfortunately, is not adequately taken care of.

Government according to him, “is not investing in these geese that lay the golden egg”. He lamented the state of roads, the drainage system, municipal solid waste management challenges, undeveloped transportation challenges, absence of organised motor parks leading to perennial traffic gridlocks etc.

The Ugwumba Osumenyi stated that when elected, he will ensure that:
a. the Inner City road networks are regularly repaired, periodically re-asphalted and where necessary dualized.
b. Ensure regular road expansion and re-designing.
c. Opening and reconnection of the drainage system to ensure a free flow of flood
d. Enforcement of Waste collection and disposal system and
e. Periodic service of drainage, stormwater channel and Sewage Pipelines.

He assured them that Government under his watch we ensure openness, transparency and accountability and that he will do everything to rebuild the trust of the people in government.

The Governorship Aspirant called on the PDP delegates present at the meeting to partner with him in the race to ensure he gets the nod of the Party to represent them in the November 6, Governorship elections.

Acceptance of the party by the electorate begins with shopping for the best candidate of its extraction who would lead the party to victory by virtue of the respect he commands, his relationship with people, his character, charisma, leadership qualities, and great depth of knowledge. Most of the aspirants vying for the party’s ticket posses a few of the qualities listed above but not all of those qualities. It would be right to say that this is because they have aimed at static perfection but not continuous improvement.

No doubt Dr. Godwin Maduka’s appearance in the political circle has left some political merchants & their agents disturbed and uncomfortable. It is not strange that the enemies of progress are hell bent on distorting facts to disturb public peace, by continuing to brew and incite community crisis that are either non-existent or long addressed by previous governments.

It shocks to the marrows that one Basil Igweke and his cohorts who are core beneficiaries of Dr. Maduka’s magnanimity, would champion offensives aimed at maligning the towering reputation of the globally respected medical expert and illustrious Igbo figure. Alleging that the peace loving humanitarian is involved in any sort of community dispute is untrue. This can only be the handiwork and antics of miscreants masquerading to cut attention.

In Dr. Maduka’s reaction to the allegation, he said “no form of distraction will deter my commitment in serving the collective interest of Ndi Anambra. I am poised to replicate the developmental template we have in Umuchukwu, in Anambra State”. Instigating bitterness and discord amongst our people only portrays it’s architects as being uncivil and clueless.

Okosisi Orumba has practically defined the Akụ Ruo Ụnọ philosophy with his outstanding philanthropic gesture over the years in developing his Umuchukwu hometown, neighboring communities and touching thousands of lives globally. These strides wouldn’t have been achieved in the absence of peace, unity and understanding amongst the people. Therefore, the claims of Basil and his co-travelers are elusive, mischievous, misleading and hence, should be disregarded.

Ndi Anambra are not feeble minded. Sponsored distraction by unintelligent few cannot be equated to the academic success, breakthroughs and exposure Dr. Maduka has achieved in his years of service to God and humanity. He admonished peddlers of falsehood, perpetrators of evil in the community and their sponsors, to desist from such sinister enterprise and seek genuine peace & reconciliation.

Ndi Anambra, your love and support for Dr. Maduka’s aspiration has been overwhelming. Let’s continue driving the conversation of a better Anamabra State.

Leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the South East stormed Awka, yesterday, to brainstorm on strategies for winning the 2021 governorship election in Anambra State.

Present at the event were the former governor and vice-presidential candidate of the party, Mr.Peter Obi; Special Adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan on Inter-Party Affairs, Senator Ben Obi; Senator Joy Emeodi; zonal and state party chairmen, Chief Ali Odefa and Chief Ndubuisi Nwobu, respectively.
Others were members of the state and zonal working committees, some governorship aspirants in the state like Dr Obiora Okonkwo, Senator Uche Ekwunife,. Chris Azubogu, and Valentine Ozigbo, and other party faithful.

Addressing participants at an event held at Marble Arch Hotels, Obi advised the governorship aspirants to reach out to the people at the grassroots rather than spending much of their time and resources posting pictures on social media.

He also reminded party leaders in the state that more work needed to be done as the party was neither holding power at the centre nor at the state level.

Zonal chairman, Odefa, assured all aspirants that the primary election was going to be free and fair. He said gone were the days when primary elections were hijacked and tickets handed over to unpopular aspirants in the party.

Senator Obi, on his part, assured party faithful that the national leadership of the party would do everything possible and legitimate to ensure that the PDP coasts home to victory in the guber election in the state.

The Senator representing Anambra South Senatorial District and National Leader of the Young Progressives Party (YPP), Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah has called on youths to remain focused and committed in their various endeavours.

The Senator made the call while addressing a group of young citizens who gathered at St. Cletus Hall Otolo Nnewi to receive vocational training. According to the Senator who was represented at the event by his legislative aide, Engr. Benard Nwanya, he noted that he was heavily impressed with the various skill displayed by the participants,adding that if they(youths) remain focused, a brighter future indeed awaits them.

The YPP National Leader further informed them that in line with his promise to keep providing quality representation and attract fruitful projects and services to Anambra South, that he will not relent in doing everything within his power in that regard . He also thanked them for their commitment to a better future and promised to always put in his best in promoting their well-being.

Responding, the participants who are citizens of various communities of Anambra South unanimously expressed their joy and thanked Senator Ubah for providing them with such opportunity. They further assured him of their continuous support.

The Senior Special assistant on Petroleum and union matters to Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra state Hon. Addressing over two hundred (200) couples who were united in the Holy matrimony, Hon Peter Nwosu said that it is important that government include organizations that serve humanity in their plans and policies especially during implementation to galvanize more efforts in uplifting her citizens. Comrade Peter Nwosu who said he has intentions of running for the office of the number one citizen of the state under the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) come 2021. He thanked the governor of Anambra state for his good works in the state.

The SSA on petroleum and union matters described the actions and activities of WAFAI as purely humanitarian and he recounted how the NGO in past times had put smiles on the faces of indigent Anambrarians and prayed God to sustain the organization. He also pledged to continually support all the activities of the group. He challenged other well meaning citizens to support government in order to lift lives from poverty and hunger.

The ongoing consultations of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP’s leading aspirant in the 2021 Anambra State governorship election, Valentine Ozigbo, received a huge boost after the Association of Past President-Generals of Anambra State (APPAS) agreed to back his bid as their sole candidate.

The decision to formally endorse him at a date to be communicated was made known on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 after a meeting between Ozigbo and over 200 members of APPAS held at Seagate Hotel, Awka, the capital of Anambra State. On the date of the formal endorsement, the Association made it clear that Mr. Ozigbo would be invited to sign a pact with them on good governance.

Speaking on behalf of the group, the National President of APPAS, Mazi Omife. I. Omife (MON), the Mbuze of Mbaukwu revealed that the group came to the decision after a careful analysis of more than 40 aspirants who have indicated interest in the Anambra State governorship election.

According to Mazi Omife, it is public knowledge that Anambra State is far from realizing its huge potentials and only purposeful, result-oriented leadership will see the state reach the heights expected of it.

Others who spoke on behalf of their respective zones were Chief Chukwuma Chukwukeme (Ekwulimili) and Chief Dr. Ignatius Nnubia (Ihembosi), who spoke on behalf of Anambra South Senatorial Zone; Chief Paul Ogudo (Nibo) and Okwy Ofejimalu (Okpuno), representing Anambra Central Senatorial Zone; Chief Osita Ononuju (Amiyi) and Mr. Peter Nwagu (Onitsha) who spoke on behalf Anambra North Central.

The PGs further stated that APPAS was convinced that Ozigbo had the right skillset, qualities, and character to lead the state to greatness.

The group declared that a closer look at Ozigbo’s track record would show a trailblazing pattern of excellence from his 17-year stint in the banking industry to his time as MD/CEO of Transcorp Hotels which saw the hotel emerge as the number one destination in Africa, a feat that saw him appointed as the President and Group CEO of the Transcorp Plc, Nigeria’s largest shareholder-based conglomerate.

Ozigbo’s tall professional accomplishments and many more of his activities, including philanthropy, sports, entertainment, and human resource management showed that he was more than capable of steering Anambra State.

Reacting to the decision to endorse him, Ozigbo said that he was “humbled, elated, and inspired” to be so recognized by the respected group.

As past President-Generals, Ozigbo expressed confidence in their judgement and promised to live up to the expectations required of him.

Speaking to journalists after the meeting, Mr. Ozigbo said that the decision of APPAS to throw their weight behind his candidacy was a testament that he was “doing the right thing”. He revealed that he was gaining increasing acceptability, both at the grassroot and within the PDP, which is an indication of the confidence reposed on him and his ability to deliver.

The respected business leader said that what Anambra needs is a trusted Chief Executive capable of managing resources and the industrious people of the state. He added that believes he has the requisite knowledge to make sure that things get better.

It is no longer News to the people of Anambra state on the ongoing building of an airport at umuleri by the Anambra State government. It is also not a new thing that the governor has shielded journalists and the teaming public from having first hand information on the new airport site.

One will be left to wonder why the governor has chosen not to give out pertinent information as to answer some questionable details regarding the ongoing project; such as the terms and conditions of the project construction (Financial Agreement), Construction company in charge and the stages of work in progress.

Some who are not well informed in purview of the public service rule will be thinking that the governor is using personal funds to construct this Umuleri airport due to the ardent willful secrecy kept about this project.

The truth is this; the Anambra state government has decided to use a ‘hanky panky’ approach in constructing the new Umuleri airport. This ‘hanky panky’ approach is that type of approach used to keep secrets between the cabals governing the State and the governed.

A confidential source revealed to 9News Nigeria journalist that the reason why the governor and his contractors have not allowed journalists to the site is merely because they want the Umuleri airport to be a mind blowing surprise at the time of completion which obviously will fall within the hit of 2021 governorship campaign.

The source also revealed that a high ranking cabal in Chief Willie Obiano’s government told him of how APGA will spend a lot of cash to attract crowds during the opening ceremony of the stadium. In Fact, he said that APGA would want the people to see the beautiful airport that will also be decorated highly to impress the people at that time. He also concluded by saying that the opening ceremony will be used also as an avenue to flag off the campaign for the APGA Candidate in 2021.

Also one of the engineers working at the new airport site has expressed his worry, if this project will be completed before the hoped 2021 campaign begins properly. He told 9NEWS NIGERIA that the shortage of finance in the past few months has halted work from going on in some part of that site and he concluded by saying that he hopes they deliver on time to save APGA from shame.

Having witnessed the poor shape of governance since the last gubernatorial election, with no aim to exaggerate, Dr. Chidozie Nwankwo should be adopted as the consensus candidate for all the political parties in the forthcoming Anambra State gubernatorial election. They never did. They betrayed the trust of the people.

Some have also argued that there’s a particular party which loves the Igbo people more, this is false. Our people are no longer searching for any false love from any party. They’re rather now interested in any individual who has a reputation for performance, unflinching credibility and is ready to rescue Anambra from the trepidation that we are presently witnessing.

There’s no aspirant who loves Anambra State more than Dr. Chidozie Nwankwo, a reputable industrialist who knows what it takes to create wealth.
In 2021, it will not be a matter of party, but of he who is most qualified and reputable to turn the state around and meet the expectations of Anambrarians. Focus on nature of the party a candidate is in, for too long has robbed us of the needed infrastructural and economic development. We ignore those who can and focus on those who are incompetent because of false assumptions we attach to political parties.

With Dr. Chidozie Nwankwo the future is bright and a new, better and greater Anambra is possible.

The battle over who will succeed gov Obiano come 2021 in Anambra state is getting interesting. The battle may become that of the billionaires as a member of Okwuosa family from Oraifite in Ekwusigo LGA declares for 2021.

Chief Dr Azuka Okwuosa has declared to run for the 2021 governorship election on the platform of APC.

Dr Azuka Okwuosa is the elder brother to Dr Emeka Okwuosa who is considered a billionaire by all standard. The Okwuosa family is respected and highly influential within the system.

Dr Azuka Okwuosa was a local govt Chairman of old Nnewi and later became a commissioner for works. He was a senatorial candidate of APGA in 2003 but was rigged out by PDP.

He went to court and got the election nullified but the rigging machine of PDP between 2003 and 2007 refused to allow a free and fair election. In 2019 he was a senatorial aspirant for Anambra south senatorial zone on the platform of APC.

Dr Azuka Okwuosa said he is in this 2021 race to give APC victory and that nothing will stop him. He is a stakeholder and political player in the system. His candidature is already changing political permutations in APC.

Willie Obiano is the governor of Anambra state currently serving his second and final term in Office due to expire in January, 2022. In fact, he practically has fourteen months left to complete his tenure as governor of the state. A gubernatorial election is billed for the state in a year’s time and registered political parties are expected to be active participants in the election. Governor Willie Obiano belongs to one of the prominent parties in Nigeria which used to be the party of choice in the state. The party APGA earned this status because of the iconic stature of the late Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu who during his life time was seen as the soul and leader of the party. Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu was loved and adored by Igbo people particularly the people of his home state, Anambra state. This love was transferred to APGA which was viewed as the Igbo Party.

Senator Ifeanyi Ubah is a young and successful businessman in the oil and gas sector of the Nigerian economy. He is a self made man unlike the outgoing governor, Mr Willie Obiano who was brought in by the immediate past governor, Mr Peter Obi. Senator Ubah’s foray into politics is about ten years old and he has been a instant hit since then. He has had a stint with LABOR PARTY on which platform he contested the gubernatorial election of the state some six years ago. He founded a very vibrant political initiative, TRANSFORMATION AMBASSADORS OF NIGERIA (TAN) with which he mobilized support for the then President Jonathan in the 2015 presidential election. He later supported and campaigned for the second tenure election of governor Willie Obiano in 2017 with the understanding that he was going to be supported by the party to run for the Anambra-South senatorial seat under its platform (a quid pro quo arrangement). This arrangement fell through as a result of dishonesty and intrigues that dog our politics in this clime. He subsequently contested the election under a relatively unknown and new party, the YOUNG PROGRESSIVE PARTY (YPP) and won. His victory surprised most people not the least Mr Willie Obiano who felt humiliated by that feat because he had expected that the manner of his denial of the APGA ticket was going to be the Nunc Dimitis of Ubah’s political career in the state.

He has a yet to be fulfilled ambition to be the elected governor of Anambra state and this is known to almost everybody in the state. As a result of this long held ambition, most of his actions in state are viewed with political undertones. But ambitions are made of sterner stuff and all bona fide indigenes of Anambra state have the constitutional rights to their legitimate aspirations to any position of their choice in the state for which they are prima facie qualified. Senator Ifeanyi Ubah has declared interest to contest the gubernatorial election of the state coming up in 2021. He is unmistakable about his ambition in this regard and his single minded determination is apparent. He is not unaware that he is going to meet a star studded field and will be up against other equally formidable contestants. Our prayers as patriots who want the best for our state should be LET THE BEST MAN FOR THE JOB WIN. William Shakespeare did remind us that THERE IS NO ART TO READ THE MIND FROM THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE FACE. My Prayers like those of all patriots are for divine intervention since all previous occupants especially the outgoing one have fallen short of our irreducible minimum standards of expectations. . Therefore, the more the merrier. I desire genuine compatriots to put their right feet forward. I therefore feel appalled when the outgoing governor, Mr Willie Obiano instead of addressing the plethora of projects begging for attention in the state chose making trouble with Senator Ifeanyi Ubah as his most important and pressing project. It goes to show that the governor has no iota of regard for Anambra state people. ONYE UNO YA N’AGBA OKU ADIGHI ACHU OKE ( a person whose house is on fire does not pursue rat).

Since Senator Ifeanyi Ubah indicated interest in becoming the next governor of Anambra state, I have noticed a disturbing chain of events which I consider infra-dig on the part of the governor. The governor is not on the ballot for the next gubernatorial elections so what is his problem against somebody who is contesting on another party’s ticket? Nigeria is currently under a multi-party democracy and many political parties will field candidates in the forthcoming elections, why should the governor feel so threatened and disturbed by the candidate of another party, a relatively new party at that? This reminds me of the concept of de marketing, the subject matter of an article in the Harvard Business Review vol 79, pages 74-80, 1971 by Philip Kotler et al. Scholars of marketing theory and practice know that Philip Kotler is renowned as the father of modern marketing. The concept of de marketing was made popular by Philip Kotler and Sydney Levi and is used by marketers to create different effects. De marketing can be general, selective and ostensible. He picked Ostensible Demarketing as a situation in which a demarketing activity ends up having unintended and opposite effects. I would have expected that the governor should use his available time in marketing APGA his party and endearing it to the electorates in Anambra state so that whoever flies the APGA flag would win the gubernatorial contest since the governor will not be on the ballot in 2021. In other words, the governor should use the resources at his disposal to ensure victory for APGA unless he has lost hope as his actions suggest.

There have been series of syndicated attacks against the Senator from different angles which creates the impression as if he is the only one contesting the election in 2021. These attacks are aimed at gaslighting Anambra state people to have a negative opinion of the young and ebullient Senator. I find the governor’s attitude very childish and bereft of the expected maturity befitting his exalted Office. Just two instances should suffice; at the onset of covid-19, the Senator mobilized his friends from both Nigeria and the diaspora, Anambra state and beyond under the name ANAMBRA PROGRESSIVES to gift Anambra state three MULTI MILLION INFECTIOUS DISEASE FACILITIES located at the three senatorial zones of the state. The governor instigated the commissioner of Information to address a press conference inveighing a lot of invectives suggesting fraud and misrepresentation by the Senator. They failed to understand that they were unjustly maligning a distinguished Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. There is nothing in the constitution of the federation of Nigeria or any law wether state or federal that makes it mandatory for anybody whether corporate or not desiring to bring a development to any state to pass it through the state government. Ours in Nigeria is a reformed economy in which the private sector is encouraged to take the driver’s seat in the emergent transformation. The governor did everything possible to make sure the development did not come to Anambra state unless he was given the cash to superintend over it. In my life, I had not witnessed the kind of irresponsibility and rascality displayed by the Anambra state government in this saga. Two of the facilities which were housed in federal government institutions in Nnewi and Awka were delivered on schedule while the third one which was to be housed in a state-owned institution was frustrated by the state government. What a shame!! What manner of a state governor will throw away goodies meant his people because he was not allowed to award the contracts or given the cash to disburse at will? It shows the level of moral decadence prevalent at the commanding heights of the political leadership in the state .

I choose the most recent one as the second case, the Senator had earmarked some roads in the Anambra South senatorial district for rehabilitation as part of his Constituency Development Projects as the Senator representing the area. He had started work at the one in Nnewi when state governor interrupted the process and obstructed him from going ahead with the rehabilitation of a road which he considered important to his constituents. Anambra South has had Senators before but none took an initiative as bold as what the young Senator had done. With others before him we only read or heard of constituency projects but never physically witnessed one. This Senator wanted to change the narratives that constituency projects funds are meant for the execution of constituency development projects and not money to be pocketed. It is a matter for serious regrets that the governor saw the truncation and frustration of these laudable projects a political mileage to gloat over. There are many roads which are in various states of disrepair in the state and the state government is aware of this fact. Why would any right thinking government obstruct federal government funds being used to upgrade infrastructure in any part of Anambra state? This is what all constituents are praying for their representatives to use their respective constituency projects funds for their benefits. The recent federal government action countermanding the intrigues of the state governor is a subtle humiliation that should teach him a lesson on how not to play dirty politics with a people’s welfare. It is important to stress that the Executive Branch of government at the federal level will not support the harassment of a federal legislator by his state government/ governor as Governor Obiano is doing to Senator Ifeanyi Ubah. JEE JUA ESE!!!!.

As I said earlier, there are many instances of these seemingly bizarre actions of the state government but I gave these two cases in this writeup for want of space. It is condemnable to play infantile politics to the detriment of your people. This is what the state government has done in the instant cases . Obstructing development from your people in order to settle a personal political score is wickedness taken too far. Only God knows who the next governor of Anambra state will be and we are all pencils in the hands of the creator . The governor should note that the more he harasses the young Senator, the more he endears him to the people. It is human nature to support the underdog in any contest. People loathe those who abuse their powers as the governor is doing . There is a lot to gain from being humble, after all, NO CONDITION IS PERMANENT. My honest advice to the Senator is DO NOT JOIN ISSUES WITH GOVERNOR WLLIE OBIANO. HE WANTS TO DISTRACT YOU. People are watching whatever everybody is doing. They will either applaud their or rebuke them with their votes at the appropriate time. The governor should stop acting a nuisance to APGA so that the party can stand a chance in the next election. The person who is flying the party’s flag in the 2021 gubernatorial election needs the goodwill that the governor is busy burning by his numerous missteps. The interests of Anambra state people are supreme and all projects which are for their benefits should be accorded priority no matter through whom it is coming to the state.

The Office of governor of a state is an exalted one which dignity should be unmistakable. The Office confers on the occupant a certain aura which is only applicable to the governor of a state in the federal republic of Nigeria. The governor is entitled to due courtesies which do not include hero worshiping and other inanities. The rofo-rofo fights which the governor is ever ready to engage in, derogates from the dignity of the Office. It must not be encouraged. There is the saying that it is only a fool that uses his feet and toes to exhume or search for a cricket while carrying the meat of a whole elephant on his head ( Iburu ozu enyi n’isi iwelu okpa n’akpa abuzu). This is exactly what the state governor is doing by his frequent vituperation against Senator Ubah. His conduct is reprehensible and inexcusable. The most appalling thing is that the attacks are unprovoked . We can not continue this way. Williams Shakespeare once said THE WORLD IS A STAGE. If God tarries one can only become the governor of a state for a maximum number of eight years. It is therefore not lifelong. After Mr Willie Obiano’s tenure, another person who nobody knows now will become the governor of the state. If this true, why Mr Willie Obiano’s fixation with Senator Ifeanyi Ubah . Why is he hounding him? It is within his constitutional rights to aspire to be governor of Anambra state or even the President of Nigeria.

The question to ask is; is governor Willie Obiano panicky with Senator Ifeanyi Ubah on the ballot and why? As I advised earlier, Senator Ubah should resist the temptation to bandy words with the governor because that is what he desires now that he is not on the ballot in the 2021 election. THROW THE SHIT TO CEILING FAN AND MESS UP THE WHOLE PLACE like the Biblical Samson did on his dying day. The Senator belongs to the federal tier of government while the governor belongs to the state, therefore, the shenanigans being played by the governor aimed at discrediting the Senator at the federal government level cannot work, it is simply a waste of precious time and resources. The Senator belongs to the legislative branch of the federal government and has the constitutional responsibility to make make laws for the good of the federation which includes the States. In the final analysis, all politically elected officials from Anambra state are supposed to collaborate and avail the state with the dividends of democracy. It does not appear that Governor Willie Obiano understands this. Pitiful!!!.

It is this type of behavior and mindset of intolerance to opposing views that makes people like us loathe the idea of a STATE POLICE. Why should a sane human being devote his precious time fighting an individual when he has a lot of work to do. If the governor had shown these character flaws during his first tenure there was no way Anambra State people would have voted him in for the second tenure. His behavior is nauseating to say the least. Conclusively, I wish to admonish all that we are in a democracy and this must find expression in our conducts and behaviors.

Ahead of Anambra State 2021 guber election,the campus leaders of IFEANYI UBAH STUDENTS SUPPORT GROUP on Saturday the 17th day of October 2020 met at Nnewi the industrial city of Anambra State to discuss the affairs of the movement concerning the gubernatorial ambition of her Patron Sen. Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah (Ikemba Igbo).

The students leaders who came from different higher institutions within and outside Anambra State took time to praise the achievements of Sen. Ifeanyi Ubah in the 9th senate and commended him for his distinguished performances inform of bills,motions and infrastructural developments.

Speaking during the meeting, the national coordinator of the group Comr. Amobi Okonkwo commended the leaders for their commitment,dedication and steadfastness so far in the affairs of the distinguished senator. He challenged them to keep up on the mandate of the group to ensure that a student-friendly governor takes over Agu Awka come 2021.

The group through her director,contact and mobilization Comr Igwe Ogbonnaya used the medium to appeal to Federal government and ASUU to end the 7 months strike which have stifled the educational system of the country. He also appealed to the distinguished Senator to lend his voice to the call by Nigerian students for ASUU to call off the lingering strike.

Another appeal made during the meeting came through the campus coordinator in charge of Akanu Ibiam Federal Polytechnic Afikpo which was based on the EndSARS protest that rocked the country since the beginning of October. He called on the Federal government to harken to the voice of Nigerian youths.

The group strategized on the better means of promoting Sen. Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah in all the higher institutions in Nigeria. They focused their discussions on Anambra 2021 guber and drafted their work plan ahead of the election.
Campus leaders turned up from Unizik,FUTO, COOU,OKOpoly,Akanu-Ibiam poly,Paul’s University,Tansian University, National Open University,Anambra poly,Delta state poly,UNN to mention but a few. The group is ready to campion the affairs of Senator Ubah and mobilize Nigerian students to support his guber ambition.

The chief sponsor of the group Mr. Stephen Mbachukwu(Gosife Nnewi) hosted the students with refreshments and words of encouragement.

Prayers were offered for the distinguished senator and for the security of Nigerians especially during this tough time.

…Donates 3 operational Vehicles to the Youth and women Groups.

Awka – A Chieftain of All Progressive Congress and Managing Director of National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), Chief Dr. George Moghalu over the weekend inaugurated all the Youths and Women Support Groups, a coalition of youth and women support groups working in solidarity for the realization of Chief Dr George Moghalu gubernatorial aspiration. The inainauguion of all ghe support Groups is part of moves to strengthen the APC for the Anambra Governorship election in 2021 and to galvanise support for Chief Dr George Moghalu Gubernatorial ambition in the state.

The youths were drawn from the three Senatorial Zones and 21 Local Government Areas of the State, under the auspices of George Moghalu Fans, George Moghalu Ambassadors, George Moghalu Youths and Zimuzo Development Foundation Women Wing, and were empanelled to become one body to be known as George Moghalu Movement.

At the inauguration of the Group which took place at Canaan House, Awka, the Anambra State capital city, the Chairman  the occasion, Chief Okey Chidiogo said the interest of the youths is one of the major reasons Chief Moghalu is offering himself to serve the state as a Governor, so as to properly take care of them. Chief Okey Chidiogo urged the youths of Anambra to support Chief Dr George Moghalu because he is an experienced leader and administrator who would not undermine their interests and mortgage the collective future of not only the state but the entire youths.

He said that Anambra state needed a governor who would protect the interests of the youths on issues such as marginalisation and unemployment. He said the office of governor was crucial, noting that decisions taken affect lives and the future of the state. Chief Dr. George Moghalu believes that there should be a better State for our youths. He envisages all that is good for them, and this is what he is aspiring to bequeath a better society where they will use their potential to better their lives for good. Chief Dr George Moghalu respects the youths and will offer the youths all the opportunities they require to maximize their potentials”.

Speaking further, he extolled the virtues of Chief Moghalu, describing him as a man well known for his philanthropy, steadfastness and political foresight, qualities which have fetched him enormous goodwill round the state. His politics of consistency, discipline and loyalty depicts the kind of character we want as a Governor. George is the kind of leader Ndi Anambra want to have at the Government House, Agu-Awka”.

The Guest Speaker,His Honour Prince Osita Ezenwa charged the youths to always be good Ambassadors of themselves. He narrated how became a Local Government Chairman at a very young Age and urged the youths to always create values for themselves. Prince Ezenwa said that youths of the state would decide the next governor of the state through their votes. The Statistics are there and they have the number.

Prince Osita Ezenwa highlighted the impact of youths in Politics. He said the youths can be a creative force and a dynamic source of sustainable innovation; however they also face issues of poverty, barriers to education, and limited employment prospects and opportunities.

There are numerous advantages attached to the inclusion of youth in politics, having charismatic and passionate youths who are politically conscious will foster a rapid growth and development in all sectors of the economy. Also, the youths are better performers in the area of sensitization and mobilization of the electorate during electioneering campaigns. The vibrancy of youths makes them indispensable in politics as such their inclusion in politics cannot be overemphasized. If this energy is channeled well into politics it will go a long way to affirm their relevance in the polity of their countries.

Inaugurating the Support Group in Awka, Chief Dr George Moghalu expressed his joy and profound gratitude to the Leaders and coordinators of the various groups for their show of love towards him. He said that He aimed to record overwhelming victory in the governorship election, both at the Primary and main Election. He urged the Leaders and coordinators of the youth and women Groups to take his simple message, ka Anambra Di Ma Ozo, to all nooks and crannies of the State.

While appealing to them to eschew violence as they would be going about the sensitization and mobilisation, Chief Dr George Moghalu, however, said that they must all be resolute in their quest to ensure victory for him and the Party both at the Primary and main Election.
According to him, “Although we seek victory, we must go about it in a peaceful manner. We must try to avoid any act of violence; but we must be resolute in our bid to regain the state from APGA.
